To report the medical attention and time-loss injury epidemiology of Australia's premier netball competition.

Descriptive epidemiological study.

One-hundred and nineteen players in the Suncorp Super Netball league were under surveillance during three consecutive seasons (2017-2019), inclusive of pre-, in-, and post- season phases. Medical attention injuries were recorded by medical personnel, and additionally sub-categorised according to time loss. Injury incidence rates (IIR) and injury burden were calculated per 365 player contract days, with differences between season and season phase IIRs compared using negative binomial generated incidence rate ratios (IRR).

Eight hundred and sixty-six medical attention injuries and 393 time-loss injuries were recorded. The majority of the players had multiple (≥2) medical attention (n = 92; 77.3%) and time-loss (n = 75, 63.0%) injuries reported. The ankle (n = 181; 20.9%), knee (n = 136; 15.7%) and foot (n = 98; 11.3%) were the body sites with the most frequentlel netball.

There are few randomized controlled trials with sufficient statistical power to assess the effectiveness of intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) in the detection and treatment of common bile duct injury (BDI) or retained stones during cholecystectomy. The best evidence so far regarding IOC and reduced morbidity related to BDI and retained common bile duct stones was derived from large population-based cohort studies. Population-based studies also have the advantage of reflecting the outcome of the procedure as it is practiced in the community at large. However, the outcomes of these population-based studies are conflicting.

A systematic literature search was conducted in 2020 to search for articles that contained the terms "bile duct injury", "critical view of safety", "bile duct imaging" or "retained stones" in combination with IOC. All identified references were screened to select population-based studies and observational studies from large centers where socioeconomic or geographical selections were ases on routine and selective IOC with well-defined outcome measures and sufficient statistical power are needed. This paper reviews the current state of knowledge on beef carcass and meat quality, with particular emphasis on on-farm and processing factors associated with its high and inconsistent variability. The diversity of livestock systems comes from the diversity of breeds (dairy or beef), ages and gender (bulls, steers, heifers, cull cows) used to produce either mainly beef or beef and milk. In addition, there are factors linked to farming practices (including diet, especially grazing) which significantly influence the sensory, nutritional, technological and extrinsic (such as image) quality attributes of meat. These can become factors of positive differentiation when controlled by the application and certification of technical specifications. Finally, preslaughter (such as stress), slaughter (such as the chilling and hanging method of carcasses) and postslaughter (such as ageing, packaging and cooking) conditions have a strong influence on the microbiological, sensory, technological and image quality attributes obe mitigated or even eliminated by poor slaughtering or processing conditions. All these considerations explain why between-animal variability in quality can be high, even when animals come from the same farming system. The ability to predict the sensory and nutritional properties of meat according to production factors has become a major objective of the supply chain.

This was an open-label, phase 1b study assessing the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy and pharmacokinetics of the combination of atezolizumab and obinutuzumab in patients with relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma (FL) or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). ATG-017 There is a mechanistic rationale suggesting that this combination may enhance recruitment of both innate and adaptive immunity and be effective against CD20+ B-cell malignancies.

The study consisted of a safety evaluation stage and an expansion stage. Patients received obinutuzumab 1000 mg intravenously (IV) in cycle (C) 1, obinutuzumab plus atezolizumab 1200 mg IV for C2-8, and atezolizumab only from C9. Primary endpoints were to identify a recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) for atezolizumab, and safety and tolerability in the safety and expansion stages.

A total of 49 patients were enrolled (FL, n=26; DLBCL, n=23), with a median of 2 prior lines of treatment. The RP2D for atezolizumab was 1200 mg IV every 3 weeks. Adverse events reported in ≥ 20% of patients were fatigue (15 patients [31%]), nausea (13 patients [27%]), cough, and diarrhea (10 patients [20%] each). Objective response rate was 54% in the FL cohort (complete response [CR] rate 23%) and 17% in the DLBCL cohort (CR 4%). Median progression-free survival was 9 months for FL and 3 months for DLBCL. Median overall survival was not estimable for FL and 9 months for DLBCL.

The combination of obinutuzumab and atezolizumab was determined to be safe and tolerable, with no new toxicities observed.

New evidence indicates that minimally invasive surgery (MIS) (laparoscopic or robotic-assisted [LNU, RANU]) reaches oncologic equivalence compared with Open Radical Nephroureterectomy (ORNU) for high-risk upper-tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). Recently, European Association of Urology (EAU) Guidelines suggested implementing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) to standard treatment to improve oncologic outcomes of high-risk UTUC. We aimed (1) To explore contemporary trends of MIS for RNU in the United States and to compare perioperative outcomes and costs with that of ORNU. (2) To determine the trends of NAC and postoperative intravesical chemotherapy (PIC) administration for high-risk UTUC and to assess their contribution to perioperative outcomes and costs.

The Optum Clinformatics Data Mart de-identified database was queried from 2003 to 2018 to retrospectively examine patients who had undergone LNU/RANU or ORNU with or without NAC and PIC. We evaluated temporal adoption trends, complications, and health caS has become the approach of choice for RNU in the US. Although recommended by guidelines, neither NAC nor postoperative bladder instillation of chemotherapy has been routinely incorporated into the clinical practice of patients with UTUC.

A modified 5-item frailty index was recently developed as a predictor of patient comorbidity-based mortality and morbidity. We evaluate the association between preoperative modified 5-item frailty index score and prognosis after radical cystectomy for bladder cancer.

In this multicenter retrospective study, we calculated modified 5-item frailty index scores of the 238 patients that underwent radical cystectomy for bladder cancer between March 2009, and March 2018. The patients were classified into high frailty index score (≥ 2) or low frailty index score (≤ 1) groups for comparison of overall and cancer-specific survival between them. To evaluate the prognostic impact of the preoperative frailty index, we also performed Cox proportional regression analyses for overall, and cancer-specific survival.

Of 238 patients, 53 patients were classified into the high frailty index score group and 185 patients into the low frailty index score group. Overall, 70 patients died of bladder cancer (29%), and 21 patients died of other causes (9%). The patients with high frailty index score had significantly lower rate of overall survival than those with low frailty index score (P < .01). On the other hand, there was no significant difference in cancer-specific survival rate between the 2 groups (P=.07). Multivariable Cox proportional hazard analysis revealed that high modified 5-item frailty index score was independently associated with poor overall survival (P=.01), but not with poor cancer-specific survival (P=.15).

High preoperative modified 5-item frailty index score could be a significant independent predictor of poor prognosis after radical cystectomy in patients with bladder cancer.

Penile curvature (PC) is a significant phenotypic anomaly associated with hypospadias that can affect hypospadias repair post-operative outcomes and impact on long-term quality of life as well as psychosexual wellbeing of affected patients. While several previous studies have attempted to define PC assessment criteria, there is still no accurate, reproducible, and reliable tool for quantifying severity. Our goal was to review the pros and cons of the current tools utilized for assessing the degree of PC in children, stressing on both strengths and limitations of each method.

A wide and deliberate review of the literature discussing the assessment of PC in hypospadias patients was conducted. We also draw on relevant methods employed in adults with PC and Peyronie's disease where a greater breadth of studies has been conducted.

The appraisal outcomes combined with our recommendations were presented in a structured approach discussing the pre-, intra-, and post-operative evaluation of PC in patients with hent difficulties encountered when measuring PC both in clinical practice and research studies.

Clinical placements are integral components of Diagnostic Radiography (DR) university training programs, providing students with necessary and unique learning experiences. Educators' understanding of the student experience on placement is growing, and it is important for educators to be attentive to students' reactions to their learning environments and to situations identified to reduce wellbeing. This study aimed to explore DR students' perceptions of challenges experienced during clinical placements and their use of coping strategies.

Final year DR Students at the University of Sydney, were invited to participate in an online focus group. Three focus groups were conducted with a total of 13 participants. Participants were asked to narrate situations experienced while on clinical placement that reduced their emotional wellbeing, and coping strategies considered to support emotional wellbeing. An inductive thematic analysis of focus group transcripts was undertaken to identify the main discussion themes.bilities to deal with negative experiences, hence students' concerns require implementation of focused interventions prior to first clinical placement.

The study authors sought to compare outcomes in patients with severe mitral valve regurgitation (MR) undergoing urgent, as compared to elective, mitral valve repair employing MitraClip. They hypothesized that, compared to elective cases, MitraClip procedures performed for urgent indications would be associated with increased intraoperative and postoperative complications but have similar long-term outcomes.

A retrospective chart review with 31 propensity score matching of elective-to-urgent cases.

A single, large-volume tertiary care academic medical center.

All consecutive patients with severe MR who underwent elective or urgent MitraClip procedures between December 15, 2015, and October 26, 2020.

MR repair with MitraClip.

As expected, patients in the urgent MitraClip group required a higher level of preprocedural care, and there were significant differences in baseline demographic and clinical variables as compared to the elective group. To reduce baseline characteristics heterogeneity, propensity matching was performed for age, left ventricular systolic dysfunction, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and smoking histories, using the nearest-neighbor matching with a caliper of 0.
