In order to understand the comprehensive effect of different nutrient elements deficiency on American ginseng, 2-year-old American ginsengs were cultivated by Hoagland solution(CK) or 10 different nutrients deficiency solution in sand culture. During the cultivation, the deficient symptom was observed. The plant height, leaf area, biomass, photosynthetic index, root activity, ginsenoside content were measured. The results showed that N, K or Fe deficiency could lead to leaves of American ginseng yellowing. Deficiency N, K, Ca, Mg and B were the main factors that decrease plant height and leaf area. The biomass of plant decreased significantly in all the nutrient deficient treatments(P less then 0.05)compared with control group, and N, K, Ca or Fe deficiency groups descended over 50%. In the absence of N, K and Fe elements, the P_n, G_s, C_i, T_r and chlorophyll of leaves were decreased mostly. The first three factors decreasing root activity were N, K and Ca deficiency. The effects of nutrient deficiency on saponins of American ginseng were different.Generally, N, P, B, Zn and Cu deficiency resulted the synthesis of saponins decreased significantly(P less then 0.05). This study contributed to clarify the demand characteristics of American ginseng for different nutrient elements, which is of great significance for the diagnose of nutrient deficiency, the rational fertilizer and the improvement of yield and quality of American ginseng. The historical preparation methods of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma were summarized and analyzed by consulting relevant literatures of herbal medicines and medical classics. This study also reviewed the records of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma processing methods in previous editions of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and the regulations on processing technology of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma decoction pieces in China. This paper summarized the processing history of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and defined the development process of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma processing. According to textual research from ancient times to today, there are many ways to process Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. The processing methods without auxiliary materials include braising, frying, cooking, simmering and adding such auxiliary materials as wine, vinegar, salt, oil, ginger, honey, water and bile. There are 9 editions of the published Chinese Pharmacopoeia that document the processing of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and 24 provinces and cities nationwide record the processing of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. At present, the 2015 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia only records the processing technology of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma honey, and the honey processing method is still widely usedtoday. Whether or not Zhigancao should be used uniformly for honey-processed Zhigancao today should be based on the processing methods of Chinese herbal medicine and its clinical use in previous ancient medical books. This paper provides a reference and historical basis for subsequent studies on other processing techniques of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, the rational selection of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma varieties and the further development and utilization of corresponding medicinal materials. The treatment of pain with complementary and alternative medicine has gradually attracted international attention. The secondary researches can support to more evidential reference for clinic decision, policy design etc. Meanwhile, the need of expedite and valuable evidence was increasingly. This study was collected published overview of system review of TCM by CNKI, WanFang, VIP, SinoMed, PudMed, Cochrane Library and Ovid database. The characteristic data extraction were included title, type of literature, author and nationality, published year, quantity of subject, quantity of original documents included, Chinese and English databases searched, type of disease, intervention, study result(positive/negative), adverse reaction, quality assessment tool, study limitation, level of evidence etc. Base these data above, to summarize the overview of system reviews of TCM by bibliometrics and overview analysis. The genus Syringa, belonging to the family Oleaceae, are distributed naturally in the European and Asian regions. This genus is composed of more than 20 species worldwide, among which about 16 species including 10 endemic ones are discovered in China. The Syringa sp.are extensively used as herbal medicine and ornamental aspects, such as the roots and stems of S. link2 pinnatifolia, which is one of the typical Mongolian folk medicines in China for the treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary symptoms. As a continuous research following the previous summary in 2015, the present reriew describes the phytochemical and pharmacological progress of the genus, which hopes to provide a valuable reference to its research, development and clinic application.Plant growth regulator is a kind of synthetic pesticide with similar physiological activity to plant hormones. It has been widely used in grain, vegetables, fruits, flowers and other crops, and become an important technical guarantee for high yield, stable yield, high quality and efficient production of crops. In recent years, plant growth regulator is widely used in Chinese herbal medicine production for regulating the growth and development and increasing production of traditional. However the crop is different from general Chinese medicinal materials, the use of plant growth regulator should not only consider the effect of Chinese herbal medicine production, and also pay special attention to the influence of Chinese traditional medicine efficacy and safety. This paper reviewed the application of plant growth regulator in the traditional Chinese medicine, the impact on the quality and safety of Chinese medicinal materials, as well as plant growth regulator of residue limits standards and testing technology,ed to reduction or non-application of plant growth regulators in the production of Chinese medicinal materials, especially for traditional Chinese medicine which contains a variety of active ingredients. Therefore, it is actively advocated to cultivate Chinese medicinal materials through organic or ecological method. The aim of this paper was to predict the multi-compound, multi-target and multi-pathway mechanism of Guilu Erxianjiao in treating post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD) based on network pharmacology. Active compounds and corresponding targets of Guilu Erxianjiao were obtained from TCMSP, BATMAN-TCM, Chemistry and DrugBank database, and known therapeutic targets of PTSD were obtained from OMIM, TTD and DisGeNET Database. The protein interaction network of compound-disease was then built by combining with the STRING Database. Topological parameters of the network were analyzed by Cytoscape 3.6.0 to get key active compounds and their targets. The GO biological process analysis and KEGG pathway analysis of the key targets were conducted. Based on the results of KEGG, the "compound-target-pathway" network was built by Cytoscape 3.6.0 and the results were verified by SystemsDock online molecular docking tool. link3 The prediction results showed that there were 67 active compounds and 420 targets for Guilu Erxianjiao, and 206 known PTSD-related therapeutic targets. Besides, 66 targets, 58 terms and 22 pathways were obtained from Cytoscape 3.6.0 topological parameters analysis, GO biological process analysis, and KEGG pathway analysis, respectively. Molecular docking results showed that both target with the maximum degree value and common targets of PTSD and Guilu Erxianjiao in the pathway can be effectively combined with their corresponding active compounds through molecular docking. The results suggested that Guilu Erxianjiao could exert anti-PTSD effect by regulating synaptic plasticity, anti-apoptotic, anti-inflammatory and promoting fear memory extinction through pathways such as LTP, PI3 K/Akt/mTOR, TNF, serotonergic synapse and dopaminergic synapse. This study provides a theoretical basis for further elucidating pharmacological mechanisms of Guilu Erxianjiao in treating PTSD.The aim of this paper was to explore the pharmacological mechanism of Baitouweng Decoction in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC) by network pharmacology and to preliminarily verify the related targets by animal experiments. Cytoscape software was used to construct "ingredient-target-disease" network through TCMSP, GeneCards and Uniprot databases. The protein interaction network was constructed using STRING database, and the core targets were speculated. The GO and KEGG enrichment analysis was conducted using R software. Autodock Vina software was used for molecular docking of ingredients and core targets. UC mice induced by dextran sodium sulfate(DSS) were treated by Baitouweng Decoction. The pathological changes of colon tissues were observed by HE staining, and the expression levels of related genes were analyzed by immunohistochemistry. The results showed that 26 active ingre-dients and 30 core targets were found in Baitouweng Decoction through network pharmacology. GO enrichment analysis showed that these genes mainly affected nuclear receptor activity, transcription factor activity, steroid hormone receptor activity, ubiquitin-like protein ligase binding, protein heterodimerization activity, transcription cofactor binding and other biological processes. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that P53 signaling pathway, EGFR signaling pathway, TNF signaling pathway, PI3 K-AKT signaling pathway and some cancer-related pathways were enriched. Molecular docking showed that EGFR, PPARG, CASP3, NOS3, caspase-9, CCND1, ADH, IL6 and NFKB1 were better docked with active ingredients. The experiments verified that Baitouweng Decoction could improve the colon pathology of mice, and EGFR is one of the related targets. Our study suggested that Baitouweng Decoction could treat UC through multiple targets and pathways, which provided a theoretical basis for future research.
