This study aimed to investigate the perception about hand washing and health status among Koreans using the data from the Community Health Survey. We examined the differences in the perceptions about hand washing and health statuses of 220,440 participants of the 2017 community health survey. The sample was divided into groups based on demographic variables, perceptions about hand washing, and prevalence of metabolic diseases. Participants' demographic characteristics were analyzed using frequency, and perceptions about hand washing and subjective health status-related parameters were analyzed using t tests. The prevalence of metabolic disorder was analyzed with χ2 tests. There were significant differences in subjective health status, subjective oral health status, and perceived obesity in the positive and negative hand washing perception groups (P < .01). The prevalence rate of hypertension and diabetes mellitus significantly differed in the positive and negative hand washing perception groups (P < .01he prevalence of metabolic disorder was analyzed with χ2 tests. There were significant differences in subjective health status, subjective oral health status, and perceived obesity in the positive and negative hand washing perception groups (P less then .01). The prevalence rate of hypertension and diabetes mellitus significantly differed in the positive and negative hand washing perception groups (P less then .01), but no differences were observed for hyperlipidemia (P less then .01).This study showed that positive hand washing perception is associated with good health care practices. The perceptions of hand washing, which are formed during early childhood, were closely associated with health status. This finding could be useful evidence for developing programs focusing on major health behaviors and levels of health.

Proliferative vitreous retinopathy (PVR) is characterized by proliferation of cells and contraction of membranes on either the retinal surface or in the vitreous cavity, which leads to retinal detachment and visual impairment. PVR is commonly seen in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy, which seriously affects the patient's work and life. Previous studies indicated that Hirudo (Leech) or compound prescription containing Hirudo (Leech) for treatment of PVR would be effective. However, due to the lack of evidence, there are no specific methods or suggestions, so it is necessary to carry out systematic evaluations on Hirudo (Leech) for PVR and provide effective evidence for further research.
The following 8 databases will be searched Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, VIP Database, and Wanfang Database. All randomized controlled trials in English or Chinese related to Hirudo (Leech) for PVR will be included. Outcomes will include change in Vitreous opacity, Vision changes, production of the anterior macular membrane, and retinal detachment again. The incidence of adverse events will be assessed for safety evaluation. Study inclusion, data extraction and quality assessment will be performed independently by 2 reviewers. Assessment of risk of bias and data synthesis will be performed using Review Manager V.5.3.
In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we will synthesize the studies to assess the safety and efficacy of Hirudo (Leech) for PVR.
The summary of our study will clarify whether Hirudo (Leech) therapy could be an efficient and safe method for PVR, which can further guide the promotion and application of it.

Superb microvascular imaging (SMI) is a new ultrasound vascular imaging technology, which uses a new Doppler algorithm, it has the characteristics of high sensitivity and high resolution to detect low velocity blood flow; it is easier to detect microvessels with low-velocity flow compared with color Doppler flow imaging in theory; and it can image the microvessels of the lesion without angiography.[1] Previous studies showed that SMI can detect tumor neovascularization to differentiate benign from malignant focal liver lessions (FLLs). However, the results of these studies have been contradictory with low sample sizes. This meta-analysis tested the hypothesis that SMI is accurate in distinguishing benign and malignant FLLs.
We will search PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Chinese biomedical databases from their inceptions to the November 30, 2020, without language restrictions. Two authors will independently carry out searching literature records, scanning titles and abstracts, full texts, collecting data, and assessing risk of bias. Review Manager 5.2 and Stata14.0 software will be used for data analysis.
This systematic review will determine the accuracy of SMI in the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant FLLs.
Its findings will provide helpful evidence for the accuracy of SMI in the differential diagnosis between benign and malignant FLLs.

Atherosclerosis (AS), the predominant pathological basis of ischemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, remains a common and severe clinical problem. Selleck Fenebrutinib The experiments in vitro and in vivo indicate that Traditional Chinese patent medicine (TCPM) shows beneficial efficacy against AS through a variety of mechanisms. However, the existing therapeutic TCPM for the treatment of AS are diverse, and it is still significant to evaluate the pros and cons of a certain TCPM. Therefore, the study aims to compare the efficacy and outcomes of different anti-atherosclerotic TCPM in adults with the hope of providing references for clinical decision making.
Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, Wanfang Database, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database, and China Science and Technology Journal Database will be searched. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of TCPM for aortic AS in adults will be included in this study if they meet the Population/Intervention/Comparison/Outcomes/Study Design (PICOS) criteria. Two reviewers will independently perform citations screening, data extraction and risk of bias assessment. STATA 15.0 and WinBUGS 1.4.3 will be employed to conduct statistical analyses under the Bayesian framework.
The efficacy and safety of various TCPM strategies on aortic AS in adults will be compared.
The study will expand the range of options for anti-atherosclerotic therapeutic strategies and encourages further clinical research in traditional Chinese medicine.

Traumatic atlantoaxial anteroinferior subluxation associated with a dens fracture and a Hangman fracture is a very rare and complex injury. Therefore, appropriate surgical strategy is not established.
An 85-year-old female presented with posterior neck pain and atypical neck position caused after rolling down a hill. Although neurological examinations for motor, sensory, gait, and reflex tests were normal, the patient complained of an abnormal neck posture.
Radiological examinations revealed an atlantoaxial anteroinferior subluxation with kyphosis, a type IIA dens fracture (Anderson and D'Alonzo classification) with an anterolateral rotatory angulation of type IIA dens fracture fragment, and a type I Hangman fracture (Levine and Edwards classification). Nevertheless, the transverse atlantal ligament was intact.
We considered that the intact transverse atlantal ligament and kinking of the type IIA dens fracture fragment into the left lateral mass of C1 prevented a spinal cord injury by blocking a further displacement of C1 to C2. Due to the patient's osteoporosis and the anterolateral rotatory angulated type IIA dens fracture fragment, a forceful reduction of the atlantoaxial anteroinferior subluxation with kyphosis could pose a high risk of fixation failure and spinal cord injury. Therefore, we performed in-situ posterior C1-2 fusion using a C1 lateral mass screw and C2 lamina screw fixations.
At 1 year after surgery, the bone union of all fractures was achieved in the kyphosis state. Furthermore, the patient's clinical symptoms were improved with no neurological deficit.
A thorough radiological examination and appropriate surgical strategy are important for successful diagnosis and treatment of a complex C1-2 injury.

Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) have elicited favorable anti-tumor activity in non-small cell lung cancer especially the lung adenocarcinoma. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is 1 of the fatal side effects of EGFR-TKIs. However, such type of side effect has not been observed in the follow-up during the treatment of the third-generation EGFR-TKI Almonertinib (also called HS-10296). Here, we first report an Almonertinib-induced ILD in an elderly female patient.
A 70-year-old female diagnosed with " lung adenocarcinoma with intracranial metastasis" harboring a mutation of EGFR 19DEL was administrated with Almonertinib 110 mg orally as the first-line treatment. However, she presented with chest tightness, and shortness of breath, accompanying with paroxysmal dry cough 3 months after the initiation of Almonertinib.
Extensive relevant examinations did not provide conclusive results and the chest computed tomography showed a diffuse ILD in bilateral pulmonary.
The patient was diagnosed with Almonertinib-induced ILD in the absence of no other potential causes. She discontinued Almonertinib and was treated with oxygen uptaken and methylprednisolone.
The whole symptoms were eliminated and the chest computed tomography showed ILD got remission after the prescription of methylprednisolone.
Almonertinib has potential to cause the rare but severe interstitial lung disease. Clinicians should keep cautious of this when prescribing Almonertinib.
