Pathological results showed pulmonary sequestration with hemorrhage and necrosis, and 4 cases were cured after thoracoscopic surgery. Conclusions Abdominal pain is often the first or main symptom of pulmonary sequestration with torsion in children, accompanied by or without chest pain. Chest ultrasound and CT can reveal the soft tissue density mass which is not enhanced or slightly enhanced during enhancement, and the blood supply artery is unclear. The effect of resection is well. Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and the diagnosis and treatment of Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia complicated with rhabdomyolysis. Methods We reported a case of Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia complicated with rhabdomyolysis. We did a literature review on the published reports between January 1978 and May 2020 by searching with the key words of "psittacosis" or "Chlamydia psittaci" and "rhabdomyolysis" in the PubMed database (time frame January 1, 1967 to May 30, 2020). Results Our patient was a 64-year-old male presenting with high-grade fever, fatigue, myalgia and dyspnea. Cyclopamine order A computed tomographic scan of the chest revealed bilateral pneumonia, which was further complicated with rhabdomyolysis during disease progression. This prompted the metagenomic next-generation sequencing, revealing the sequences of Chlamydia psittaci in both the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and blood. Of the 11 cases in the 3 literature reports that we retrieved, 5 had concomitant rhabdomyolysis (two of which did not have complete clinical information), and the other 6 cases had myositis complicated with an elevated level of creatine phosphokinase. This yielded 3 cases with complete clinical information for our analysis. We had further incorporated their information with the single case managed within our study site. Two were males and the other 2 were females. The patients were aged 66, 46, 44 and 64 years, respectively. All cases had fever and 3 had a contact history with live poultry. Two cases had myalgia and progressed rapidly into having respiratory failure, and the other 2 cases did not develop myalgia and improved significantly after a timely treatment. All 4 cases were cured and discharged after treatment with appropriate antibiotics. No adverse outcomes were observed. Conclusions The prognosis of Chlamydia psittaci pneumonia complicated with rhabdomyolysis was poor in case of a delayed treatment. Early diagnosis would help reduce the mortality. Objective To retrospectively analyze the high risk factors of death in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and to explore the influence of aspiration on the long-term survival rate of COPD patients. Methods A retrospective analysis of clinical data of inpatients, who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from April 2012 to December 2013 due to COPD exacerbations and had radionuclide aspiration test, was conducted. Meanwhile, we phoned the patients' family members, whose phone numbers were recorded in the electronic patient record system, to follow up the patients' survival status, and learn the causes of death from their death records if patients died during follow-up period. Inquired the resident administration patients belonging to according to their original address to get patient's current contact information if changed. Besides, if family members of patients failed to provide death record, we should look up information concerned from the medPD patients who took radionuclide aspiration test, the median survival time of the patients with and without aspiration were about 3 and 5 years respectively. The high-risk factors influencing long-term survival of the COPD patients with aspiration included ICU-involved medical history and accompanying pneumonia. Conclusions The incidence rate of aspiration is relatively high in COPD patients over 70 years old. Compared to COPD patients without aspiration, COPD patients with aspiration have higher incidence rate of pneumonia and shorter median survival time. ICU-involved medical history and severe pneumonia are the two high-risk factors influencing long-term survival of COPD patients with aspiration. To improve the survival time of COPD patients with aspiration, we need to attach importance to the prevention and treatment of aspiration. Objective To explore the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 reinfection cases. Methods The published COVID-19 reinfection cases were reviewed and the relevant data were extracted, including the baseline characteristics of patients, the results of antibody tests, and the whole-genome sequencing results of the viral strains. Results We reviewed 29 reinfection cases in 20 reports from 14 countries. The age of re-infected patients ranged from 21 to 90 years (median 53 years), and there was no significant difference in gender distribution. Among the 29 patients, 11 were health care workers, 6 received immunosuppressive drugs (including glucocorticoids), 17 presented more severe symptoms than their primary infections and 5 (all aged over 80 years) died. The interval of the two infections was usually less than 60 days when the patients were infected by the same viral strain, while the interval was much longer (median 78.5 days) when the patients were infected by different viral strains. Nine patients had negative antibody test results or low antibody titers when the reinfections were confirmed, and 5 of them had negative antibody test results even during the initial infection. Conclusions Virus-specific antibodies had a protective effect against COVID-19 reinfection for the majority of the population, however, this effect may decrease over time. Occupational exposure, low levels of antibodies, or an inability to produce antibodies may be the main risk factors for reinfection. Advanced age was a major risk factor for a poor prognosis. Effective personal prevention and social distancing were still essential for the prevention of reinfection. Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features and differential diagnosis of metastatic tumors in the lung. Methods The clinicopathological data of 226 metastatic tumors in the lung were collected at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science & Peking Union Medical College, from January 2014 to December 2018, and the pathomorphological characteristics were analyzed. Results There were 84 males and 142 females, with an age range from 13 to 77 years. There were 122 patients with multiple pulmonary nodules and 104 patients with solitary pulmonary nodule. The tumors of the highest frequencies were colorectal cancer (n=59), followed by trophoblast tumor (n=44), kidney cancer (n=31), breast cancer (n=20), cervix cancer (n=14), and urinary urothelium cancer (n=8). The time from the diagnosis of primary tumors to metastasis and the status of surgical treatment varied by tumor origin. The morphology of metastatic lung tumors overlapped with that of the primary tumors to some extent. The relative specific morphological characteristics and the presence of carcinoma in situ surrounding the tumors should be carefully searched for to confirm the tumor origin. The metastatic tumors of the lung had morphological characteristics, immunohistochemical TTF1 (-) and tumor of various sources, while the primary tumor differentiation had relatively specific antibodies colorectal cancer CK20 (+), CDX2 (+), CK7 (-); malignant trophoblastic tumor, HCG (+); renal clear cell carcinoma CD10 (+), vimentin (+), CK7 (-); breast cancer, GATA3 and ER (+); cervical cancer, p16 (+); urothelial carcinoma, CK20, p63 and GATA3 (+). Conclusions There is overlap between pulmonary metastatic tumor and primary tumor in morphology. Therefore, the diagnosis should be made by combining clinical history, pathological morphology and immunophenotypic characteristics. Objective To establish a speech recognition system based on adaptive technology and to evaluate its value in pathological grossing processes. Methods A total of 600 tissue specimens were collected at the Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital affiliated to Hangzhou Medical College between October 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. A speech recognition system based on adaptive technology was used in the pathological grossing processes, and the pathological examination reports were generated and extracted. Results The speech recognition system based on adaptive technology showed a good recognition rate (overall recognition rate = 77.87%) and helped achieve rapid input and output of pathological examination data. Conclusions The speech recognition system can reduce the labor costs, improve the work efficiency of pathologists and increase the quality of medical services, which may be valuable for building next-generation smart hospitals. Objective To investigate the clinicopathological features of hepatic vascular tumors in children. Methods The clinical characteristics, histology and immunohistochemical staining results were summarized and analyzed in 22 cases of hepatic vascular tumors in children at Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from September 2007 to November 2020. Results The 22 patients aged from 1.0 month to 2.5 years (mean age 9 months). There were 10 males and 12 females. Five cases were found in premature and had low birth weight infants; three cases were discovered in the antenatal period; one patient also had cutanous hemangioma; six patients had associated anemia; Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon was not seen in any patient. CT examination showed 17 tumors were solitary and five were multifocal lesions. Macroscopically, the tumors size ranged from was 0.6 cm to 11.0 cm; the cut surface was solid, gray red and brown in color, and in six cases there were hemorrhage and necrosis in the central area. Microscopically,15 cas. It is of great significance to make clear pathologic diagnosis.0bjective To investigate the clinicopathological features, immunohistochemical phenotypes, molecular genetic alterations, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) of the urinary bladder. Methods Ten cases of IMT of the urinary bladder (three cases at Ningbo Diagnostic Pathology Center from September 2011 to December 2020, five in-house diagnosed cases and two consultation cases at Shanghai Rui Jin Hospital from June 2011 to December 2020) were collected retrospectively. The clinicopathologic features and immunophenotypic profiles were studied by light microscopy and immunohistochemistry (EnVision method). The translocation of ALK gene was detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Results Of the 10 patients, eight were male and two were female. The patients' age range was 16 to 62 years (median 36 years). The main clinical presentation was hematuria and urinary irritation. Three cases were located at the dome of the urinary bladder, four cases were in the left n eight patients and none had local recurrence nor distant metastasis. Conclusion IMT of the urinary bladder is an uncommon mesenchymal neoplasm with intermediate malignant potential. It has special clinicopathologic features, and a minority of cases have local tumor recurrence. Objective To evaluate the clinical and molecular pathologic features of uterine inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (UIMT). Methods Six UIMT cases collected at Department of Pathology, Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital, School of Medicine, Tongji University from 2019 to 2020. They were analyzed for their general characteristics and clinicopathologic features. ALK rearrangements were detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization. Results The age of the six patients ranged from 14 to 65 years, the tumors ranged in size from 2.5 to 6.0 cm. The masses were intramural or submucosal in location. Most of them (4/6) were white with yellow foci, and two (2/6) were white with tan foci. Other features noted included a soft or firm appearance. The fasciitis-like pattern of UIMT had myxoid stroma around the spindle cells and inflammatory cells. The ganglion-like pattern showed either fascicular or storiform architecture with diffuse growth. Nuclear atypia was mild or moderate. Mitoses ranged from 2 to 4 per 10 high-power fields.
