The literature suggests that TE might increase lumbar BMD in premenopausal women with FHA, but pooled results revealed no effect of the intervention. The findings do not support oestrogen therapy to improve BMD in these patient groups.

Running is an important type of exercise to keep people physically active. However, running also carries a risk of developing running-related injuries (RRI). Therefore, effective and evidence-based RRI prevention programmes are desirable, but are scarce in practice. An approach to face this problem might be the application of methods to develop RRI prevention programmes based on theories of behaviour change.

The purpose of the study was to develop an RRI prevention programme based on perspectives of behavioural and social science theories, as well as taking a framework development approach.

This was a qualitative study using the Intervention Mapping (IM) framework held between February and March 2018 in São Paulo, Brazil. The participants were involved in running practice. The data collection was conducted during focus group meetings. The data analysis was based on semantic thematic approach using a content analysis orientation based on inductive reasoning.

The target population of the RRI prevention programme identified was 'adult recreational runners'. The objectives of the RRI prevention programme were established in two broad actions (1) to provide feedback on individual training characteristics and RRI risk; and (2) provide/enhance knowledge, skills and self-efficacy on RRI preventive behaviours. The programme is aimed to be delivered through an online system.

An RRI prevention programme was developed using the IM framework and a participatory approach. The programme was named 'RunIn3', and it is based on providing feedback on running volume and RRI risk, as well as providing knowledge, skills and self-efficacy on RRI preventive behaviours.

Gastric penetration by a fish bone is rare due to anatomical and physiological features such as the thick stomach wall, wide lumen and gastric acid. The most common penetration site is the antral region. The clinical course of fish bone penetration of the gastric antrum may differ depending on the direction of penetration. In this report, two cases of gastric perforation by fish bones that followed different courses are presented. One case was treated conservatively with antibiotics alone, and another case was considered for surgery, due to increased hematoma and penetration of the fish bone into the pancreas. However, the patient's comorbidities were so severe that surgery was not possible, resulting in meticulous follow-up. Diagnostic imaging was important in these cases.Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disease of unknown etiology that affects several organs. The fatal type of Langerhans cell histiocytosis is called Letterer Siwe disease (LSD) which is multisystem with a poor prognosis. Herein, we report a 20-month-old male who was admitted for recurrent pulmonary infections at the age of 10 months. GSK-3 inhibitor review Diagnostic workup revealed a Letterer-Siwe disease. The patient was treated with a good response.Minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA) of the cervix otherwise known as adenoma malignum is a rare variation of cervical adenocarcinoma. Radiological evaluation plays a great role to ensure an early diagnosis. Here, we report a 48-year-old woman who was presented with a mucoid vaginal discharge 10 years after a supracervical hysterectomy. Despite normal biopsy and cytology, magnetic resonance imaging showed a large cervix and multiple cervical cysts that considered adenoma malignum as a differential diagnosis. She underwent surgery and the pathology confirmed the adenoma malignum. In conclusion, radiologists, as well as gynecologists, and also pathologists may consider MDA among the differential diagnosis in patients with a vaginal discharge and multicysts in the cervix even after hysterectomy despite normal cytology and biopsy.Adult Still's disease (ASD) is a rare systemic inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology most commonly characterized by daily spiking fevers, an evanescent, 'salmon-colored' rash, and arthralgia. Cardiac complications such as pericarditis, myocarditis, heart failure, and pericardial effusion progressing to tamponade have been reported. Because of the severe and potentially lethal complications associated with these processes, the clinician's index of suspicion must remain high and the threshold for cardiac imaging low. Here, we present a case of ASD-associated myocarditis identified quickly by point-of-care ultrasound, allowing for prompt workup and treatment.Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are a first-line treatment for patients with nonsmall-cell lung cancer harboring EGFR mutations. We report a 65-year-old Japanese woman with nonsmall-cell lung cancer taking an EGFR-TKI who visited the emergency department with acute nausea and vomiting. Imaging studies demonstrated an incarcerated diaphragmatic hernia. Urgent diagnostic surgery revealed a gap in the diaphragm acting as a hernial orifice, where a metastatic tumor was detected. We consider that regression of the diaphragmatic metastasis by EGFR-TKI therapy resulted in perforation of the diaphragm, causing the diaphragmatic hernia. Gastrointestinal adverse events, e.g. nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, are common during EGFR-TKI treatment. However, this case suggests that in patients with diaphragmatic metastasis, we should consider the rare possibility of diaphragmatic perforation and a subsequent hernia.Giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma (GMPC) is a rare benign pelvic mass for which complete surgical resection is an accepted treatment of choice. This report presents the first case of complete resolution of GMPC following a 3-year course of luteinising hormone-releasing hormone agonist alongside external beam radiotherapy for the concurrent treatment of unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer. In addition to illustrating the imaging features of the effect of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) and radiotherapy on GMPC regression, this case provides evidence for considering ADT as an alternative, noninvasive GMPC treatment option in patients in whom surgical treatment is either contraindicated or can be made less invasive by reducing the size of GMPC prior to its removal. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is still striking the global population affecting all age groups. So far, many clinical features associated with COVID-19 illness remain under-identified, especially atypical manifestations. It is essential to characterize associated rare symptoms to better recognize complications. As severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children (MIS-C) in severe infection manifesting as a generalized inflammatory reaction and immune response in many body systems, potential involvement of the male urogenital tract by SARS-CoV-2 should be considered. Herein, we report a case of a pediatric patient with orchiepididymitis associated with COVID-19 infection, emphasizing the importance of considering other manifestations such as genital involvement of MIS-C in children with COVID-19 and highlighting the need to monitor the genitourinary function after infection. Therefore, andrological consultation is necessary to evaluate fertility as a long-term follow-up, especially as the effects of SARS-CoV-2 on male reproductive function are still to be thoroughly researched.Iatrogenic tracheal rupture is a life-threatening airway complication. It has a very low reported incidence and is more prevalent in women and patients over 50 years of age. The most frequent clinical manifestations of tracheal injury are subcutaneous emphysema and respiratory distress. We report a case of a 65-year-old woman with cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator implantation under general anesthesia. Shortly after extubation, dyspnea and subcutaneous emphysema appeared. The X-ray showed pneumomediastinum, pneumopericardium and pneumoperitoneum. The tracheal rupture was confirmed by bronchoscopy. After conservative treatment, the patient's well-being improved, and she was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition.Subclavian steal syndrome is a rare vascular cause of recurrent effort-related syncope events, affecting ~2% of the general population. Here, we report a case of a 64-year-old male who was hospitalized because of recurrent effort-related syncope events. Physical examination revealed several characteristic clinical clues for subclavian steal syndrome. Indeed, through the use of multimodality imaging, the diagnosis was established. We demonstrate that the combination of history taking, thorough physical exam and subsequent imaging studies can establish a relatively rare diagnosis of recurrent syncope.A 56-year-old female patient with upper lobe neoplasia of the right lung and superior vena cava syndrome. The patient complained about the taste of the medications during the chemotherapy sessions. Interventional radiology diagnosed cava-bronchial fistula when it injected contrast into the inferior and superior vena cava.Tick paralysis is an uncommon, noninfectious, neurologic syndrome characterized by acute ataxia and ascending paralysis mostly seen in children. Early recognition and prompt management with tick removal helps in complete recovery. If untreated, ascending paralysis can lead to respiratory failure and death in 10% of the cases. Tick paralysis is usually considered as a differential in all cases of acute ataxia and generalized weakness in children and adults but seldom in neonates due to its rarity and differences in clinical presentation in the newborn period. In neonates, tick paralysis may present only as generalized weakness and lethargy with poor feeding. Even though tick paralysis is common in children less then 10 years of age, it has never been reported in a neonate. We report a case of tick bite paralysis in a baby who presented in the neonatal period, and identification of the tick and its removal that helped in rapid recovery. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has infected more than three million people, with thousands of deaths and millions of people into quarantine. In this research, the authors focus on meteorological and climatic factors on the COVID-19 spread, the main parameters including daily new cases of COVID-19, carbon dioxide (CO2) emission, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), Sulfur dioxide (SO2), PM2.5, Ozone (O3), average temperature, and humidity are examined to understand how different meteorological parameters affect the COVID-19 spread in Canada? The graphical quantitative analysis results indicate that CO2 emissions, air quality, temperature, and humidity have a direct negative relationship with COVID-19 infections. Quantile regression analysis revealed that air quality, Nitrogen, and Ozone significantly induce the COVID-19 spread across Canadian provinces. The findings of this study are contrary to the earlier studies, which argued that weather and climate change significantly increase COVID-19 infections. We suggested that meteorological and climatic factors might be critical to reducing the COVID-19 new cases in Canada based on the findings.
