Nested PCR targeting the variable region of the 18S rRNA gene of piroplasmids resulted in one positive sample with 99.8 % sequence identity to Babesia divergens. The presence of these two pathogens that are primarily circulated by I. ricinus confirms the local participation of wild boar in the host spectrum of this tick and warrants experimental studies to address wild boar as a reservoir of zoonotic haplotypes of A. phagocytophilum. In this study, the concentration of foliar dust and 23 elemental concentrations in foliar dust and foliar tissues were studied using long rows of grand tamarind trees grown in two major roads in Coimbatore, India. Twenty-four sampling sites were chosen and categorized as urban (n = 5), suburban (n = 14), and rural (n = 5) areas based on the local population. In the case of foliar dust concentration, a significant difference was noted between the sites of urban (range between 3.06 and 6.68 μ/cm2) and suburban areas (range between 0.56 and 5.75 μ/cm2) but not for rural areas (range between 0.40 and 0.47 μ/cm2). When comparing the urban, suburban, and rural, either significantly or insignificantly, 17 elements (Al, Ba, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Ga, In, K, Mg, Mn, Ni, Sr, and Zn) in urban and five elements (Ag, B, Cr, Na, and Pb) in suburban were higher. However, in the case of elements in tamarind laves, almost all elements except Na and K were higher in the urban area. Furthermore, the study results suggest that the elements in both foliage dust and in tamarind leaves are not evenly distributed between the sites of urban, suburban, and rural areas. This uneven distribution might be due to the construction being performed on a stretch of a four-lane highway during sampling, heavy transportation in three small junctions of suburban sites, and a rail over-bridge construction in one suburban site. However, comprehensive studies are needed to confirm this conclusion.Phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA), widely applied in industrial and consumer products, can affect hormones associated with the human reproductive system. Because the incidence of reproductive diseases is increasing, a comprehensive exposure assessment of phthalates and bisphenol analogues (BPs) is required for childbearing-aged women. Phthalate metabolites and BPs were measured in urine samples collected from 509 childbearing-aged women (20-48 years) in Korea to investigate their current exposure status, profiles, influencing factors, and potential health risks. DEHP metabolites and BPA were the dominant compounds found, indicating that they are highly consumed in daily life. Bisphenol S (BPS), as an alternative to BPA, was detected in most urine samples. Total concentrations of phthalate metabolites and BPs ranged from 3.42 to 3570 (GM 45.6) ng/mL and from less then LOQ to 80.3 (0.91) ng/mL, respectively, which were within the ranges observed in women in previous studies. Exposure to diethyl phthalate (DEP) was significantly associated with the use of cosmetics and personal care products such as perfume, body lotion, and sunscreen. Oxaliplatin Higher ratios of urinary BPS/BPA were observed in younger and more highly educated women and in women living in urbanized regions than others. This result suggests that a shift in consumption from BPA to BPS was preferentially occurring in urbanized regions. The assessment of the cumulative risk posed by phthalates and BPs showed that they pose only a small health risk to Korean women. This study provides baseline data on exposure levels, profiles, and influencing factors for phthalates and BPs in childbearing-aged women.N-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs) decorated Bi2O2CO3 heterojunction nanosheets have been successfully constructed by a facile hydrothermal method. The obtained NCQDs/Bi2O2CO3 heterojunction exhibits a wide-spectrum absorption ability and remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activities for ciprofloxacin photodegradation from ultraviolet to near-infrared region. The critical roles of NCQDs and two different charge separation and transfer processes of NCQDs/Bi2O2CO3 heterojunction under different light irradiations have been elucidated. Upon UV light irradiation, NCQDs act as electron reservoirs and a Z-scheme charge transfer process between Bi2O2CO3 and NCQDs promotes electrons transfer and •O2- reactive species generation. Under visible and NIR light irradiation, NCQDs act as photosensitizer (hole reservoirs) to harvest solar light and a type-II heterojunction leads to an efficient charge carrier separation and thus high catalytic ability. The mechanisms and pathways of ciprofloxacin degradation driven by different lights are discussed accordingly. This work provides a versatile pathway to well design an efficient wide-spectrum response photocatalyst.Thermal behavior of municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash is extremely complicated due to the simultaneously occurred reactive processes and the products with different chemical compositions, therefore, the investigation of chemical compounds transition behavior and mechanism during the integrated thermal process is of great significance. In this study, the macro-thermal treatment of fly ash and thermo-gravimetric analysis via non-isothermal methods were carried out and Málek method was firstly introduced to explore the mechanism of multi-step reaction for fly ash. The mineral transition results suggested that the halite, sylvite in the raw fly ash transformed to more complex crystals in treated samples, such as chlorellestadite, polyhalite and enstatite during the thermal process. And the heavy metals leaching concentration decreased with the temperature increased from 300 °C to 1200 °C, and the leaching values were lower than the standard limitation after thermal treatment. In addition, three major steps of fly ash reactions (300-380 °C, 650-750 °C and 890-1130 °C) during the thermal process were observed and expressed by first order reaction for the first step, three-dimensional diffusion for the second step and three dimensions of limiting surface reaction between both phases for the third step, respectively. The kinetic study revealed that the mineral transition process was in well accordance with the simulated reaction mechanism during the thermal treatment. The obtained results are expected to provide the research basis for studying detailed thermal characteristics and reaction mechanism during the thermal treatment of MSWI fly ash.
