DAT imaging with single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) can be used to confirm or exclude a diagnosis of dopamine deficient parkinsonism in cases where the diagnosis is unclear. It can also detect the dopaminergic dysfunction in presymptomatic subjects at risk for Parkinson's disease (PD) since the reduced radiotracer binding to DATs in striatum is already present in the prodromal stage of PD. This review covers the rationale of using DAT SPECT imaging in the diagnosis of PD and other parkinsonian disorders, specifically focusing on the practical aspects of imaging and routine clinical indications.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a complication of ovarian stimulation with increased vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and vascular permeability in ovarian tissue. Transient receptor potential melastatin 2 (TRPM2) is known to be associated with angiogenesis and vascular permeability. In this experimental study, we aimed to investigate the activity of TRPM2 in the development of OHSS.

Fourteen immature female rats were divided into two groups. Group 1 was the control group, and Group 2 was the OHSS group which was exposed to 10 IU of subcutaneous application of FSH for four days and 30 IU of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) on 5th day. At the end of the experiment, the ovaries were removed. The right ovarian tissues were stored in 10% formol for histopathological and immunohistochemical examination. The left ovarian tissues were stored at ?80°C for biochemical examinations. VEGF, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF??) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels were measured in the ovarian tissue. Congestion, edema, apoptosis and TRPM2 immunoreactivity were evaluated.

Analysis of the characteristics of influenza virus in imported cases in Guangxi Province of China.

Throat swabs of imported cases with influenza-like symptoms were detected by real-time PCR from July 2016 to 2019.

1292 laboratory detections of influenza were reported in 3974 influenza-like cases, of which 71.67% (926) were influenza A. The percentage of test positive was 32.82%. The proportion of detections of influenza B was 28.33% (366). 70.51% of the cases mostly came from Vietnam (911). 86.76% (1121) of the cases were imported from Dongxing port, Nanning Airport and Pingxiang port. There was no statistical difference in all age groups. At the same time, 3 of the untyped A-type specimens were sequenced by next-generation sequencing. Among them, the sequences of 2 specimens from Vietnam had high homology with the influenza strain H3N2 in Hong Kong in 2017. The specimen sequence from Thailand is highly homologous to the influenza pandemic strain H1N1 in Brisbane, Australia in 2018.

GDP (gemcitabine, dexamethasone and cisplatin) is a well-established salvage regimen for relapsed and refractory lymphomas. In this study, we aimed to share our experience with the patients who received GDP/R-GDP (rituximab-gemcitabine, dexamethasone and cisplatin) for stem cell mobilization.

Data of 69 relapsed and refractory Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients who received GDP/R-GDP as salvage chemotherapy in our center between July 2014 and January 2020 were retrospectively evaluated. After the evaluation of response, 52 patients had a chemosensitive disease and underwent mobilization with GDP/R-GDP plus G-CSF (granulocyte colony-stimulating factor). Collected CD34+ stem cells and related parameters were compared in terms of diagnosis of HL and NHL, early and late stage, patients who did not receive RT and those who received RT, and patients aged under 60 and over 60.

On the 15th day on average (range 11?20), median 8.7 × 106 /kg (4.1 - 41.5) CD34+ stem cells were collected in 51 (98%) of our 52 chemosensitive patients and 1 (2%) patients failed to mobilize.
