We present a case of an OT successfully treated in a non-operative manner during COVID-19 outbreak in Norhern Italy and offer a review of the literature that supports such a clinical attitude. Conclusions OT preoperative diagnosis is challenging and is usually achieved by abdominal CT-scan. Lapatinib in vitro The suggested OT initial management is conservative, leaving a surgical approach, preferably by laparoscopy, for the 15% of cases not improving with a non-surgical approach.

Primary colonic leiomyosarcoma (cLMS) is a rare malignancy of muscularis mucosae or muscularis propria showing highly aggressive behaviour and poor prognosis. To date, making a preoperative diagnosis and performing the most appropriate treatment represent laborious tasks for the clinicians. On the one hand, in fact, cLMS diagnosis is often difficult to achieve preoperatively because of the low specificity of clinical, radiological and bioptical features for these motives, the diagnosis is usually obtained at postoperative histology/immune-histochemistry. On the other hand, although surgery represents the mainstay of multi-modal treatment, in the current era of minimally invasive surgery the optimal approach to cLMS is debated in the absence of a standardized and unanimous algorithm, in fact, laparoscopy is usually proposed for small tumors, whereas laparotomy for masses exceeding 4 cm in diameter. Our aim was to elucidate such two aspects by reporting our experience.

We present the case of a 51-year-old man affected with a 6-cm LMS of the sigmoid colon.

Preoperative diagnosis was achieved through a preoperative echo-endoscopic biopsy. The lesion was successfully and safely managed by laparoscopic surgery.

Our case suggests that a preoperative diagnosis of cLMS is possible in an appropriate setting. Moreover, laparoscopy seems to be a safe and successful approach to resect cancers even larger than the common 4 centimetres proposed by the current literature.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is an advanced therapeutic technique for en bloc resection of superficial gastrointestinal neoplasms. Although gastric ESD is minimally invasive and provides favorable outcomes, it is technically difficult and requires a long procedure time for dissection. The traction-assisted approach overcomes some of the difficulties of gastric ESD, but its ability to reduce the procedure time remains unclear. The traction-assisted approach using dental floss and a clip did not reduce procedure time in the total population, but it reduced procedure time for lesions limited to the greater curvature of the upper or middle of the stomach. Although the traction direction of the clip-with-line method may be limited to the oral side via the cardia, EndoTrac ESD may provide flexible traction at any time during the procedure. This prospective randomized control study has been designed to compare the efficacy and safety of EndoTrac and conventional gastric ESD.

Individuals enrolled in a university program that will lead to a degree in history are considered preservice historians in the context of this study. Their goal is to become professional historians after graduating from the university. The purpose of this study was to determine whether cognitive behavioral coaching (CBC) had an effect on maladaptive academic perfectionism in Nigerian preservice historians.

The study included a randomized sample of 98 preservice historians from Nigerian public universities in the country's Southeast zone [49 preservice historians were assigned to the cognitive behavioral coaching group-CBC Group, while 49 preservice historians were assigned to the waitlist control group-Waitlist control Group].

The finding indicate that preservice historians' maladaptive academic perfectionism decreased significantly following cognitive behavioral coaching. There was also a significant interaction effect of time and group on the reduction of preservice historians' maladaptive academic perfectionism.

This study suggests that cognitive behavioral coaching is an effective intervention for preservice historians who struggle with maladaptive academic perfectionism. The study's implications for history lecturers were discussed. Future study could investigate how maladaptive academic perfectionism affects postgraduate history students and how CBC can help them.

Combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) increased the life expectancy of people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) (PLHIV) and remarkably reduced the morbidity and mortality associated with HIV infection. Consequently, PLHIV are experiencing non-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) associated comorbid conditions including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study is to determine the frequency of non-AIDS associated comorbid conditions among a cohort of PLHIV on cART in Lebanon.Data were collected between November 2018 and December 2019 from 105 voluntary participants. A standardized questionnaire was used to collect demographic and behavioral data including lifestyle, smoking, physical activity, substance use and abuse in addition to co-infections and family history of non-communicable diseases. Moreover, data on occurrence and treatment of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, lipid and metabolic disorders as well as mental health we results provide important information on HIV trends and associated comorbidities in Lebanon and can be used to improve the management of non-communicable diseases among PLHIV.

40 years of age than those ≤40 years with both hypertension and hyperlipidemia most commonly reported. Older age (odds ratio [OR] 7.6; 95% CI 1.83-31.98; P = .005) is associated with higher odds of having hyperlipidemia. Moreover, participants on cART for ≥10 years are 5 times more likely to have hyperlipidemia (OR 5; 95% CI 1.08-22.73; P = .039). Our results also showed that study participants did not experience anxiety, depression or somatic symptoms and that there was no association between these mental disorders and older age or comorbidities. Our results provide important information on HIV trends and associated comorbidities in Lebanon and can be used to improve the management of non-communicable diseases among PLHIV.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by white matter inflammatory demyelination in the central nervous system (CNS). Its clinical manifestations include decreased vision, diplopia, and limb weakness. As a green and simple traditional Chinese medicine method, acupuncture is gradually recognized by the public. At present, there is still a lack of systematic evaluation on acupuncture treatment of MS. This study aims to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of MS, in order to provide a basis for clinical decision-making.

Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of acupuncture for MS will be searched in the relevant database, including PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), WanFang Database, China Biology Medicine Database (CBM), Chinese Scientific Journals Database (VIP), regardless of publication date, or language. All relevant RCTs of electronic searches will be exported to EndNote X9.1 software. Data analysis will be performed using RevMan 5.4 and STATA 14.2 software.

Our study aims to explore the efficacy of acupuncture for MS and to provide up-to-date evidence for clinical of MS. We will publish our research results in peer review journals.

This study will perform a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis on the efficacy of acupuncture for MS, making up for the lack of relevant evidence of the clinical use of acupuncture.

Essential hypertension has been regarded a significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease across the globe, and a significant escapable causation of early death as well as morbidity in the U.S. When angiotensin II receptor blockers and calcium channel blockers are used to treat essential hypertension, most patients will have inadequate blood pressure management. As a result, including a diuretic in the regimen is necessary. The current study's aim is to investigate the effectiveness as well as safety of levamlodipine besylate combination therapy in treating essential hypertension at varying degrees of severity.

In establishing the effectiveness and safety of the mix of levamlodipine besylate and dihydropyridine for essential hypertension, the authors will conduct a systematic review and, where applicable, a meta-analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials. A total of 8 electronic databases will be used in the search, including 4 English databases (PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Cochrane Libl be collected as part of this review.

To study the relationship between miR-148a and preeclampsia (PE), and clarify that miR-148a can regulate the endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) of placental trophoblasts by targeting the ERS protein X box binding protein 1 (XBP1).Fifty patients with hypertension during pregnancy, patients with mild PE, patients with severe PE, and normal pregnant women were selected, and their placental tissues were collected. RT-polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of miR-148a in placental tissues, and Western blot was used to detect XBP1 in placental tissues. Compare the expression differences of miR-148a and XBP1 in each group, and analyze the correlation between the expressions of the two.Compared with the Neg-miR group, MTT experiment result in pre-miR-148a group was decreased. MTT experiment result in anti-miR-148a group was increased. Cell cycle test result in pre-miR-148a group [G1 (%)] was increased. Cell cycle test result in anti-miR-148a group [S (%)] was increased. Apoptosis test result in pre-miR-148a group [early apoptotic cells (%), late apoptotic cells (%)] was increased.
