Similarly, there was an increased likelihood of depression when the participant or spouse was unemployed.
This study observed a higher prevalence of depression, which suggests paying attention to this cohort. Thus, there should be routine screening for depression among married women involved in MSG at lower-level health facilities in rural settings, especially those with spouses engaged in substance use, having an extramarital relationship, and being unemployed.

This in vitro study was undertaken to investigate the antimicrobial effect of distinctive oral mouth washes after the addition of zein-coated (Magnesium oxide) MgO nanoparticles on exemplary of some oral microorganisms.
Three hundred and twelve samples were used in this study. A set of five concentrations of MgO nanoparticles with zein and without zein-coating were incorporated into three oral mouth washes Listerine zero, Listerine total control and Oral B in the mass percentages of 0.3%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 5% and 10%, in addition to controls with no MgO nanoparticles. The antimicrobial effect of three mouth washes with variable concentrations of MgO was tested against the following organisms
and
using the disc diffusion test (DDT) and direct contact test (DCT). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA statistical test.
The tested mouthwashes with zein-coated MgO nanoparticles showed significant differences of antimicrobial activity on
, and
in the disc diffusion test. While in the DCT, all tested mouthwashes with MgO nanoparticles with and without zein coating showed antimicrobial activity on all tested microorganisms.
Zein-coated MgO nanoparticles may be considered as a potential antimicrobial agent when added to oral mouthwashes. Future analysis, including in vivo studies, is required in order to incorporate zein/MgO nanoparticles into oral mouthwashes that may improve its antibacterial property.

Few studies have described real-world treatment patterns and survival before the widespread use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). We aimed to describe anti-cancer treatment including the use of programmed cell death-1 and ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) ICIs and overall survival (OS) in advanced cancer patients as a benchmarking real-world standard before widespread use of ICIs.
Using nationwide Danish medical registries, we assembled cohorts of Danish patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (n=12,283), urothelial carcinoma (n=2504), epithelial ovarian cancer (n=1466), gastric adenocarcinoma (n=1457), and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) (n=1261) diagnosed between 1/1/2013 and 31/12/2017. We describe anti-cancer treatment and OS using proportions, medians, and Kaplan-Meier methods.
Between 9% (ovarian cancer) and 25% (gastric adenocarcinoma) of patients did not receive anti-cancer treatment. The remaining patients received surgery, radiation therapy, and/or medical therapy. Chemotherapy was the ICIs.
Most patients with advanced NSCLC, urothelial carcinoma, epithelial ovarian cancer, gastric adenocarcinoma and RCC had poor OS in an era where only a minority received PD-L1/PD-1 ICIs. This information on treatment patterns and survival is important as a benchmarking real-world standard before widespread use of ICIs.Aging of the population is a pressing challenge for healthcare systems and knowledge of a patient's prognosis is a key to shaping effective interventions. As the prevalence of multimorbidity strongly increases with age, the prognostic value of multiple disease diagnoses for survival among older people may diminish, whereas other measures of health, such as functional status (defined as a measure of an individual's ability to perform activities of daily living), may become more important. In this commentary, the impact of age on the prognostic value of multimorbidity is discussed, with the aim of identifying relevant alternative risk indicators for different age groups. The key question is to determine at what age the prognostic value of multimorbidity for meaningful clinical outcomes decreases and is overridden by the prognostic value of functional status. This tipping point likely depends on age, calendar time, and birth cohort. The public health and clinical implications of these tipping points are important. Among younger and middle-aged persons, interventions could be directed towards prevention and treatment of specific diseases, while among older persons efforts should focus more on improving functional levels that include physical, emotional, and social dimensions.
Esophageal basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (EBSCC) is a rare malignancy. Serum apolipoprotein A-I (APO A-I) has proved to be a potentially useful prognostic indicator in various cancers. However, no studies have analyzed the prognostic significance of serum APO A-I in patients with EBSCC. The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic impact of preoperative serum APO A-I in patients with EBSCC.
Between 2007 and 2018, a retrospective study of 4050 patients with resectable esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) including the levels of preoperative serum lipids was conducted and evaluated. The best cut-off values of the preoperative serum lipids were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Kaplan-Meier analyses and Cox regression analyses were analyzed the overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS). A prediction model of nomogram was developed to predict individual OS and RFS in EBSCC.
There were 53 patients enrolled in the study, which accounted for 1.31% (53/4050) of all primary ESCC. The best cut-off point was 1.305 g/L for serum APO A-I according to the ROC curve. Patients with lower levels of serum preoperative APO A-I were associated with worse RFS (16.1% vs 54.5%,
= 0.006) and OS (29.0% vs 63.6%,
= 0.010). The results indicated that serum APO A-I serves as an independent predictor in patients with EBSCC regarding OS [hazard ratio (HR) 0.352; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.154-0.808;
= 0.014] and RFS (HR 0.397; 95% CI 0.185-0.850;
= 0.017).
Preoperative serum APO A-I is an independent predictor regarding OS and RFS in EBSCC. As far as we know, this is the first study in EBSCC to explore the serum APO A-I in patients with EBSCC.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the risk factor for cervical cancer. BTK inhibitor Consequently, HPV DNA testing is an essential method for cervical cancer screening. Yet, data on the prevalence and genotype distribution of HPV and cervical cytological among women in northern Jiangsu Province of China are very limited.
A total of 36,500 women were enrolled at the Department of Pathology of Jinhu County People's Hospital between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2019. HPV genotypes was performed using YanengBio
Human Papillomavirus Genotyping Kit. Thin liquid cytology tests (TCT) were conducted, based on cytology conditions set by Bethesda in 2001.
The overall prevalence of HPV infection was 28.95%; it was age-dependent; the number of infections was highest in the 40-49 age group. Six thousand three hundred eighty-two women (16.87%) were found to have a pure high-risk HPV infection, while 918 women (2.43%) were found to have a pure low-risk HPV infection. The 6 most predominant genotypes were HPV 52, 58, 16, 53, 56, and 33. Moreover, 8923 women (45.09%) were affected by ASCUS, 4531 (22.90%) by LSIL, 3726 (18.83%) by ASC-H, and 2610 (13.19%) by HSIL.
This study revealed a high burden of HPV infection among women in northern Jiangsu Province of China and identified the distribution of the prevalent top 6 HPV genotypes in this area, which can be used as a useful reference for future work.

Worldwide mortality due to cardiovascular disease is the dominant cause of death, and ischemic heart disease is the leading one. Though risk factors for Ischemic heart diseases are modifiable and preventable, it is not well investigated in the local context. Thus, this study aimed to assess the dietary and behavioral risk factors for ischemic heart disease among patients in medical outpatient departments in Southern, Ethiopia.
A facility-based unmatched case-control study was conducted from November 16 to March 20, 2020, among patients with ischemic heart disease and those patients who visited the three hospitals of the Wolaita Zone. A convenient sampling method was used and the data were entered using Epi data version 3.1 and exported to SPSS version 21 for analysis, a p-value <0.05, were considered statistically significant.
A total of 557 study participants (140 cases and 417 controls) were included in a ratio of 13. The adjusted odds ratio for having no formal education (AOR = 3.18; 95% CI 1.59, 6.34), previous history of hypertension (AOR= 2.84; 95% CI 1.73, 4.66), physical inactivity (AOR= 2.23; 95% CI 1.32, 3.76), inadequate intake of fruit and vegetable consumption (AOR= 2.43; 95% CI; 1.40, 4,22), palm oil use for food preparation (AOR= 2.12; 95% CI 1.23, 3.63) and obesity (AOR= 5.68; 95% CI 2.63, 12.23) increased the occurrence of the disease.
Although ischemic heart disease is preventable, using relatively simple and inexpensive lifestyle changes, it is projected to cause preventable loss of life. So, expanding health education and healthy life styles including exercise is recommended.

Although the pain of osteoarthritis (OA) is traditionally considered to be nociceptive, some patients also have neuropathic pain. The objective of this study was to evaluate the presence of neuropathic pain in the knees of OA patients using the painDETECT questionnaire (PDQ).
A total of 180 knees in 158 consecutive patients who underwent total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were enrolled prospectively. The prevalence of neuropathic pain, unclear pain, and nociceptive pain in the knee was determined before and after TKA using a numerical rating scale (NRS). All patients were evaluated preoperatively and 6 months postoperatively. Neuropathic pain and unclear pain were grouped together as possible neuropathic pain. The relationship between possible neuropathic pain and pain intensity was evaluated.
Before TKA, neuropathic pain and unclear pain were found in 10 and 30 knees, respectively. The remaining 140 knees were categorized as nociceptive pain. After TKA, the numbers of knees with neuropathic and unclear pain decreased to one and five, respectively.
