The widely adopted visual Deauville 5-point scale and Lugano Classification recommendations have recently standardized PET scans interpretation and improved lymphoma patient management. In addition [18 F] FDG-PET is routinely recommended for initial evaluation and treatment response assessment of Multiple Myeloma (MM) with significant contribution in risk-stratification and prognostication, although magnetic resonance imaging remains the Gold Standard for the assessment of bone marrow involvement. In this review, an overview of the role of [18 F] FDG-PET, in hematological malignancies is provided, particularly focusing on Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) and Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), both in adult and pediatric populations, and MM, at each point of patient management. Potential alternative molecular imaging applications in this field, such as non-[18 F] FDG-tracers, whole body magnetic resonance imaging (WB-MRI), hybrid PET/MRI and emerging radiomics research are briefly presented.
Associations between most single metals and children's intelligence quotient (IQ) scores have been evaluated in previous studies. However, associations between multi-metal exposures and children's IQ scores have not been analyzed.
To assess the joint effects of lead (Pb), manganese (Mn), antimony (Sb), tin (Sn) and titanium (Ti) co-exposure on children's IQ scores.
A prospective cohort study was conducted in Shimen and Huayuan, Hunan Province, China. Urine metals levels were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) at baseline. Children's IQ scores were repeatedly measured at baseline and follow-up following the method of Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) and standardized as z scores. We fitted linear regression models and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) models to investigate the associations of metal levels with children's IQ scores after adjusting for covariates.
A total of 633 participants aged 7-10 years completed the survey. Urinary Pb (β = -0.028, P =e some evidence of the association between multi-metal exposure and children's IQ. Meanwhile, interactions between multi-metal exposures on children's IQ should be given more attention.

Medical image segmentation plays an important role in clinic. Recently, with the development of deep learning, many convolutional neural network (CNN)-based medical image segmentation algorithms have been proposed. Among them, U-Net is one of the most famous networks. However, the standard convolutional layers used by U-Net limit its capability to capture abundant features. Additionally, the consecutive maximum pooling operations in U-Net cause certain features to be lost. This paper aims to improve the feature extraction capability of U-Net and reduce the feature loss during the segmentation process. Meanwhile, the paper also focuses on improving the versatility of the proposed segmentation model.
Firstly, in order to enable the model to capture richer features, we have proposed a novel multiscale convolutional block (MCB). MCB adopts a wider and deeper structure, which can be applied to different types of segmentation tasks. Secondly, a hybrid down-sampling block (HDSB) has been proposed to reduce the fure loss during the segmentation process. Although hypotension in ICU patients is associated with adverse outcome, currently used definitions are unknown and no universally accepted definition exists.
We conducted an international, peer-reviewed survey among ICU physicians and nurses to provide insight in currently used definitions, estimations of incidence, and duration of hypotension.
Out of 1394 respondents (1055 physicians (76%) and 339 nurses (24%)), 1207 (82%) completed the questionnaire. In all patient categories, hypotension definitions were predominantly based on an absolute MAP of 65 mmHg, except for the neuro(trauma) category (75 mmHg, p < 0.001), without differences between answers from physicians and nurses. Hypotension incidence was estimated at 55%, and time per day spent in hypotension at 15%, both with nurses reporting higher percentages than physicians (estimated mean difference 5%, p = 0.01; and 4%, p < 0.001).

To investigate the epidemiology of the entire spectrum of large vessel vasculitis (LVV) in a well-defined population from a Northern Italian area.
All patients with incident giant cell arteritis (GCA) diagnosed from 2005 to 2016 and all patients with incident Takayasu arteritis (TAK) diagnosed from 1998 to 2016 living in the Reggio Emilia area were identified. Only patients satisfying the modified inclusion criteria of the GiACTA trial, and the 1990 ACR classification criteria for TAK were included. The epidemiology of cranial- and LV-GCA was separately evaluated.
207 patients were diagnosed with GCA and 5 with TAK. 123 patients had cranial-GCA, 53 patients had LV-GCA, and the remaining 31 patients had overlapping features. link3 The standardized annual incidence rate of GCA was 8.3 (95% CI 7.1, 9.4) per 100,000 population ages ≥50 years. The standardized annual incidence rate of cranial-GCA (6.1 [95% CI 5.1, 7.1] per 100,000 population ages ≥50 years) was double the rate of LV-GCA (3.4 [95% CI 2.7, 4.2]). The age-specific incidence rates were similar in the <70 and >90 years age groups, but they were higher in cranial-GCA than in LV-GCA in the age groups 70-79 and 80-89 years. The age- and sex-adjusted annual incidence rate of TAK was 0.5 (95% CI 0.1, 1.2) per 1,000,000 population.

Although there has long been a suspected association between varicella-zoster virus (VZV) and multiple sclerosis (MS), the connection has remained unclear. In this study, we performed a meta-analysis in an attempt to assess the association between VZV IgG serostatus and MS.
A literature search was performed using three databases MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane. Eligible results included observational studies investigating the seroprevalence of VZV immunoglobulin G (IgG) in adults with MS versus non-MS controls. Two authors performed a screen of the search results, evaluating them for quality and relevant outcomes. Using a random-effect model, we estimated pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
