Applied social science questions raised by the new guidelines include who receives take-home doses of methadone and buprenorphine and why; and how media representations of risk and benefit rationales shape real-world policy and practice.In this paper, we examine how the 2008-2009 drought in northern Tanzania contributed to and catalyzed the transformation of governance concerning the management of natural resources from traditional informal institutions among the Maasai to formal village-based institutions. Our central argument is that village governance in northern Tanzania represents a new, formal institution that is supplementing and in some important ways obviating traditional, informal institutions. Further, this replacement is central to what appears to be a transformation of the social-ecological system embracing the rangelands and pastoral/agropastoral people in northern Tanzania. In this paper, we document the basis for our claims concerning the institutional shift and discuss its implications for livelihoods and social relationships.In modern wireless systems such as ZigBee, sensitive information which is produced by the network is transmitted through different wired or wireless nodes. Providing the requisites of communication between diverse communication system types, such as mobiles, laptops, and desktop computers, does increase the risk of being attacked by outside nodes. Malicious (or unintentional) threats, such as trying to obtain unauthorized accessibility to the network, increase the requirements of data security against the rogue devices trying to tamper with the identity of authorized devices. In such manner, focusing on Radio Frequency Distinct Native Attributes (RF-DNA) of features extracted from physical layer responses (referred to as preambles) of ZigBee devices, a dataset of distinguishable features of all devices can be produced which can be exploited for the detection and rejection of spoofing/rogue devices. Through this procedure, distinction of devices manufactured by the different/same producer(s) can be realized resulting in an improvement of classification system accuracy. The two most challenging problems in initiating RF-DNA are (1) the mechanism of features extraction in the generation of a dataset in the most effective way for model classification and (2) the design of an efficient model for device discrimination of spoofing/rogue devices. In this paper, we analyze the physical layer features of ZigBee devices and present methods based on deep learning algorithms to achieve high classification accuracy, based on wavelet decomposition and on the autoencoder representation of the original dataset.Overnutrition causes hyperactivation of mTORC1-dependent negative feedback loops leading to the downregulation of insulin signaling and development of insulin resistance. In osteoblasts (OBs), insulin signaling plays a crucial role in the control of systemic glucose homeostasis. We utilized mice with conditional deletion of Rptor to investigate how the loss of mTORC1 function in OB affects glucose metabolism under normal and overnutrition dietary states. Compared to the controls, chow-fed Rptorob-/- mice had substantially less fat mass and exhibited adipocyte hyperplasia. Remarkably, upon feeding with high-fat diet, mice with pre- and post-natal deletion of Rptor in OBs were protected from diet-induced obesity and exhibited improved glucose metabolism with lower fasting glucose and insulin levels, increased glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. This leanness and resistance to weight gain was not attributable to changes in food intake, physical activity or lipid absorption but instead was due to increased energy expenditure and greater whole-body substrate flexibility. RNA-seq revealed an increase in glycolysis and skeletal insulin signaling pathways, which correlated with the potentiation of insulin signaling and increased insulin-dependent glucose uptake in Rptor-knockout osteoblasts. Collectively, these findings point to a critical role for the mTORC1 complex in the skeletal regulation of whole-body glucose metabolism and the skeletal development of insulin resistance.BACKGROUND Between April and September 2020, there were less then 10 000 reported cases of COVID-19 in the Masovia district, Poland, and less then 1000 new cases daily in Poland. During this period, all new hospital admissions to a maternity unit of a teaching hospital in Warsaw were screened for the COVID-19 infection. This retrospective study presents the findings from the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test for COVID-19. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study included 838 women admitted for delivery between April 20 and September 20, 2020. All the admitted women were assigned to a low-risk or a high-risk group for COVID-19 and underwent RT-PCR nasopharyngeal swab tests (GeneFinder™-COVID-19-Plus-RealAmpKit. OSANG Healthcare Co., Ltd., Gyeonggi-do, Korea) for COVID-19. The testing protocol included repeated testing in case of inconclusive results or negative results in the symptomatic patients. The maternal and neonatal data from these cases were collected and analyzed. RESULTS All of the 838 women tested negative for COVID-19. Two women (0.24%) were classified as high risk for COVID-19. For 4 (0.48%) women, the results were initially inconclusive and negative when repeated. One hundred and eighty-one (21.5%) women presented with comorbidities, and 60 (7.2%) women were ≥40 years old. CONCLUSIONS The findings from this study show that between April and September 2020, there were no cases of COVID-19 infections at the maternity unit of a teaching hospital in Warsaw, Poland. However, the infection rates for COVID-19 across Europe continue to change. Testing protocols have been developed and established for all hospital admissions and it is anticipated that testing methods will become more rapid and accurate.BACKGROUND Development and rupture of a de novo intracranial aneurysm is rare. Little is known regarding its etiology and the appropriate timing of follow-up angiograms after surgical clipping or coiling. TLR2-IN-C29 CASE REPORT We present a case report of a 39-year-old male smoker with history of hypertension who developed a de novo aneurysm 8 years after surgical clipping of an aneurysm in the middle cerebral artery in the same segment. He presented with neck rigidity and drowsiness. Laboratory analysis did not show blood dyscrasia. Brain computerized tomography showed right temporal lobe hematoma and 4-vessel angiogram demonstrated de novo aneurysm in the same segment of the M1 middle cerebral artery, which was confirmed by intraoperative microsurgical findings. We review the literature on such cases and discuss the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of this condition. De novo aneurysm, although rare, can develop within days to as long as 10 years after surgical clipping or coiling. CONCLUSIONS This rare case of de novo aneurysm supports follow-up imaging of patients after initial surgical clipping for up to 10 years.

To explore the predictive values of different small vessel disease (SVD) scores on functional recoveries and the clinical cerebrovascular events in mild intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH).

In this study, we enrolled conscious and mild ICH patients without surgery and further divided them into the cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA)-ICH group and hypertension (HTN)-ICH group. The severity of individual SVD markers, including lacunes, cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS), white matter hyperintensity (WMH), and cortical superficial siderosis (cSS), was evaluated. The original SVD score, modified SVD score, refined SVD score, and CAA-SVD score and the total number of SVD markers were further calculated. Functional recoveries were evaluated using the modified Rankin scale. Recurrences of stroke were defined as readmission to the hospital with a definite diagnosis of stroke.

A total of 163 ICH patients (60 CAA-ICH and 103 HTN-ICH) were included in the study. The CAA-SVD score (OR=3.429; ecurrent strokes in HTN-ICH.The increasing involvement of women in the paid-labor market has led to multifactorial exposure towards the development of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). This review aims to identify the prevalence of NCDs and the associated risk factors among working women. A systematic review was performed using PubMed and Scopus databases. Twelve articles published between 2015 and 2019 satisfied the inclusion and exclusion criteria and were selected for qualitative synthesis. Among working women, the prevalence of NCDs was as follows coronary heart disease, 0.3-5.9%; metabolic syndrome, 52.0%; diabetes mellitus, 8.9-16.0%; hypertension, 16.6-66.4%; non-skin cancer, 3.7%. The prevalence of NCD risk factors was as follows overweight/obesity, 33.8-77.0%; low physical activity, 51.0%; unhealthy diet, 44.9-69.9%; dyslipidemia, 27.8-44.0%. The factors associated with NCDs were long working hours, double work burden, and stress. NCD is an important burden of working women that will lead to reduced work quality and affect family well-being. Disease prevention approaches, such as the intervention of common workplace risk factors and specific work schedule design, are among the strategies for improving the situation.Epsilon toxin (ETX), produced by Clostridium perfringens types B and D, has been touted as a potential biological weapon and is known to induce fatal enterotoxemia in a variety of livestock animals. For the efficient production of recombinant proteins with the objective of investigating the effects of different recombinant vaccines against ETX, a bicistronic design (BCD) expression system including the ETX coding sequence with mutation of amino acid 106 from Histidine to Proline (ETXH106P) in the first cistron, followed by Cholera Toxin B (CTB) linked with the ETX coding sequence with mutation of amino acid 196 from Tyrosine to Glutamic acid (ETXY196E) in the second cistron, was generated under the control of a single promoter. Rabbits were immunized twice with five inactivated recombinant Escherichia coli (E. coli) vaccines containing 100 µg/ml of the recombinant mutant rETXH106P/CTB-rETXY196E proteins mixed with different adjuvants. Apart from rETXH106P/CTB-rETXY196E-IMS1313-vaccinated rabbits, the neutralizing antibody titers of rETXH106P/CTB-rETXY196E-vaccinated rabbits were higher after the initial immunization than those administered the ETX toxoid or current commercial vaccines. rETXH106P/CTB-rETXY196E mixed with ISA201 induced the highest neutralizing antibody titer of 120 after the first immunization, suggesting that 0.1 ml of pooled sera could neutralize 120× mouse LD100 (100% lethal dose) of ETX. Following the second vaccination, rETXH106P/CTB-rETXY196E mixed with ISA201 or GR208 produced the highest neutralizing titer of 800. Rabbits from all vaccinated groups were completely protected from a 2× rabbit LD100 of ETX challenge. These results show that these novel recombinant proteins can induce a strong immune response and represent potential targets for the development of a commercial vaccine against the C. perfringens epsilon toxin.Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) possess regenerative and immunomodulatory properties and can control the immune dysregulation that leads to β-cell destruction. Stem-cell transplantation could thus manage insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) in dogs. In this pilot study, we aimed to assess canine adipose tissue-derived MSCs (cAT-MSCs) transplantation as a treatment for canine diabetes mellitus. This study included four dogs with over a year of insulin treatment for IDDM, following diagnosis at the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital of Seoul National University. Allogenic cAT-MSCs were infused intravenously three or five times monthly to dogs with IDDM. Blood and urine samples were obtained monthly. General clinical symptoms, including changes in body weight, vitality, appetite, and water intake were assessed. Three of the four owners observed improvement of vitality after stem cell treatment. Two of the four dogs showed improvement in appetite and body weight, polyuria, and polydipsia. C-peptide has increased by about 5-15% in three of the cases, and fructosamine and HbA1c levels have improved in two of the cases.
