Little is known about the efficacy and durability of anti-RBD IgG antibodies induced by certain SARS-CoV-2 vaccines. It has been shown that neutralizing antibodies are associated with the protection against re-infection. This study aims to compare the mean titers, duration, and efficacy of generating protective anti-RBD IgG antibody response among recipients of Pfizer/BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines. In addition, we aimed to compare the susceptibility of getting COVID-19 breakthrough infections after various types of vaccines.

Samples from 2065 blood bank donors and healthcare workers at King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) were collected between February and September 2021. Anti-Spike/RBD IgG levels were measured using Chemiluminescent microparticle-immunoassay (CMIA) (ARCHITECT IgG II Quant test, Abbott, USA).

The mean titer of anti-RBD IgG levels was significantly diverse among different types of vaccines. The highest titer level was seen vaccine type such as mRNA vaccines that might be needed in Jordan and worldwide.

The Effectiveness of Gastric Bypass vs. Gastric Sleeve for Cardiovascular Disease (ENGAGE CVD) study compared the effectiveness of vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) operations for reduction of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association-predicted 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk 5 years after surgery.

Data for this study came from a large integrated healthcare system in the Southern California region of the United States. This is one of the most ethnically diverse (64% non-White) bariatric populations in the literature.

The ENGAGE CVD cohort consisted of 22,095 patients who underwent VSG or RYGB from 2009-2016. The VSG and RYGB were compared using a local instrumental variable approach to address observed and unobserved confounding, as well as to conduct heterogeneity of treatment effects risk was low in this population and remained low up to 5 years for those with diabetes, Black and Hispanic patients, and older adults. Literature reporting significant differences between VSG and RYGB in 10-year ASCVD risk may be a result of residual confounding.Endometrioid adenocarcinoma (ECa) may feature a number of morphologic variations that can pose diagnostic challenge. The purpose of this review and update is to examine the spectrum of morphologic variants and mimics of low-grade (FIGO grades 1 and 2) ECa, with a focus on histologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular features that may inform diagnosis and treatment. In addition to ECa of usual type, variants with unique cytologic and/or architectural features presented include the following 1) ECa with mucinous differentiation of conventional (Müllerian) type; 2) ECa with squamous differentiation; 3) ECa with morular metaplasia; 4) ECa with patterns resembling cervical transformation zone tissue and/or microglandular hyperplasia; 5) ECa with cytoplasmic clearing; 6) ECa with papillation, including villoglandular variant of ECa, ECa with small nonvillous papillae, and ECa with a "low-grade serous"-like component or surface changes mimicking ovarian serous borderline tumor; 7) corded and hyalinized variant of ECa; 8) ECa with spindled epithelial cells; 9) ECa with sex cord-like pattern; and 10) ECa with other unusual cytologic and associated features. For each variant, relevant differential diagnoses and diagnostic strategies are discussed. The most clinically significant distinctions come into play in the differential diagnosis between low-grade ECa and one of its high-grade mimics. In this setting, the most fundamental tool in the pathologist's diagnostic arsenal is recognition of the low-grade cytologic features typical of low-grade ECa. Circumspect evaluation of cytologic features, complemented by an awareness of the morphologic spectrum, an appropriate battery of immunohistochemical stains when needed, and mindfulness of the clinical scenario, should guide the pathologist to the correct histotype in even challenging cases.

Identify the key effective components of a depression self-care intervention.

Secondary analysis of data from 3 studies that demonstrated effectiveness of a similar depression self-care intervention (n=275) 2 studies among patients with chronic physical conditions and 1 among cancer survivors. The studies used similar tools, and telephone-based lay coaching. Depression remission and reduction at 6 months were assessed with either PHQ-9 (chronic condition cohorts) or CES-D (cancer survivor cohort). Multiple logistic regression was used to analyze data when the interaction p-value with cohort was <0.10.

The 3 coached cohorts achieved better depression outcomes than usual care. So far, the adoption of hospital report cards (HRCs) falls short of expectations. One promising strategy is to modify the content of HRCs by presenting patient-reported outcomes (PROs).

To identify the key determinants influencing patients to use HRCs for hospital decision making and determine the effect of presenting PROs on HRCs on their use intention.

Primary survey data were collected (5/6-2021) on a sample of 2000 randomly selected insurees from a German statutory health insurance who have undergone elective hip arthroplasty surgery.

Overall, 447 participants (mean age 66.56) completed the survey and were included in the analysis. Respondents rated "PROs" as most important for the hospital choice followed by "Mobility at hospital discharge" and "Confirmed diagnosis rate". Patients generally perceive HRCs to be a good idea that makes searching for a hospital more interesting. We identified attitude and social influence as the most important determinants for using HRCs (p<.001 each). The presence of PROs on HRCs was not associated with an increased intention to use HRCs neither in our descriptive analysis (p=.593), nor in our research model (p=.763).

Patients value PROs to be an important information for choosing a hospital. Nevertheless, health policy makers should note that presenting PROs on HRCs as a single approach is not likely to increase the use of HRCs.

Multifragmentary radial head and neck fractures not amenable to open reduction and internal fixation are usually treated with radial head arthroplasty (RHA). Although the optimal implant design is still subject to debate, anatomic designs are common. We hypothesized that positioning of the implant leading to increased radial stem angle (RSA) (angle of the RHA stem with respect to the proximal radius shaft, RSA) in anatomic RHA designs will contribute to failures. The aim of this study was to characterize the risk of RHA failure with respect to the stem angle in anatomic RHA design.

A retrospective review of patients who underwent anatomic RHA for acute fractures between 2006 and 2019 at 2 academic centers was conducted. Initial postoperative elbow radiographs were reviewed to measure RSA on the anterior-posterior and lateral views. Radiolucency, stress shielding, and radiocapitellar arthritis were also evaluated. Implant failure was defined as prosthesis removal or revision.

Implant failure was associated with significantly larger lateral RSA than that in intact implants. Increasing stem shaft angle on a lateral radiograph was associated with decreased implant survival. Radiolucency, stress shielding, and radiocapitellar arthritis were similar between the 2 groups.

Anatomic radial head implants are commonly used; however, the importance of prosthesis positioning, specifically that of the stem within the proximal radius, remains understudied. Higher RSA is associated with the risk of implant failure and need for revision.

Therefore, a Dutch Multidisciplinary Expert group is assessing the clinical significance of DDIs in oncology and provides recommendations for the management of these DDIs. We present an overview of methodology and outcome of an evidence- and consensus-based assessment of DDIs between anticancer drugs and non-anticancer drugs. A literature search was performed through PubMed and EMA and FDA assessment reports, to identify potential DDI's involving anticancer drugs. For each potential DDI a concept report for risk analysis and practical advice for management was created. Subsequently, this risk analysis and the corresponding advice were assessed and weighed. A total of 290 potential DDIs have been identified in the literature thus far. Of these 290 potential DDIs, the Expert Group has identified 94 (32%) DDIs as clinically relevant, with a need for an automated alert and a suggested intervention. Furthermore, 110 DDIs have been identified as clinically not relevant. For 86 potential DDIs evidence supporting a relevant DDI was insufficient and in these cases neither an alert nor advice regarding a suggested intervention were formulated. A transparent risk analysis is presented for identification of clinically relevant DDIs with anticancer drugs. Integration of DDI guidelines into the national electronic prescribing system is essential to achieve optimal efficacy and minimal toxicity in patients receiving anticancer therapy. A clear overview of clinically relevant DDIs with anticancer therapy provides clinicians with a structured, evidence-based and consensus-built tool for anticancer therapy surveillance.
