N6-Methyladenosine (m6A) modification has been implicated in multiple processes for colon cancer development. IGF2BP3 was a newly reported m6A reader, whereas its role in colon cancer remains unclear.

The expression of m6A associated enzymes and total m6A level were measured by Western Blotting analysis and m6A RNA Methylation Quantification Kit respectively. Cell cycle was analyzed by flowcytometry. The interaction of IGF2BP3 and related targets was analyzed by RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) and m6A RNA immunoprecipitation (MeRIP) assays.

We investigated all m6A regulated enzymes in colon cancer and found only the overexpression of IGF2BP3 was associated with cancer progression and survival based on The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases. Additionally, we also demonstrated IGF2BP3 was associated with DNA replication in the cell cycle. Knockdown of IGF2BP3 significantly repressed percentage of S phase of cell cycle as well as cell proliferation. Further research demonstrated IGF2BP3 bound to the mRNA o therapeutic target of colon cancer.

Community care professionals need to encourage older adults in performing functional activities to maintain independence. However, professionals often perform functional activities on behalf of older adults. To change this, insights into the behavior and barriers of professionals in encouraging activities are required. In the current study, the MAINtAIN questionnaire, which was developed for nursing homes, was adopted. The objective was to create a modified version that is suitable for measuring behavior and barriers of community care professionals in encouraging functional activities of clients in the community care setting. The overall aims were to assess the content validity, construct validity, and internal consistency of the modified version.

Data was collected by qualitative and quantitative methods in two phases. During phase one, the MAINtAIN was assessed on appropriateness and feasibility by community nurses (N = 7), and the adapted questionnaire was assessed on content validity by research experssess the behavior and barriers of community care professionals in encouraging functional activities. It can be used to display a possible difference between perceived and actual behavior, to develop strategies for removing barriers in encouraging activities to foster behavioral change. The results also provide guidance for further research in a larger sample to obtain more insight into the psychometric properties.

The MAINtAIN-C seems promising to assess the behavior and barriers of community care professionals in encouraging functional activities. It can be used to display a possible difference between perceived and actual behavior, to develop strategies for removing barriers in encouraging activities to foster behavioral change. The results also provide guidance for further research in a larger sample to obtain more insight into the psychometric properties. After the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic, the elaboration of comprehensive and preventive public policies became important in order to stop the spread of the disease. However, insufficient or ineffective measures may have placed health professionals and services in the position of having to allocate mechanical ventilators. This study aimed to identify instruments, analyze their structures, and present the main criteria used in the screening protocols, in order to help the development of guidelines and policies for the allocation of mechanical ventilators in the COVID-19 pandemic. The instruments have a low level of scientific evidence, and, in general, are structured by various clinical, non-clinical, and tiebreaker criteria that contain ethical aspects. Few instruments included public participation in their construction or validation. We believe that the elaboration of these guidelines cannot be restricted to specialists as this question involves ethical considerations which make the participation of the population necessary. Finally, we propose seventeen elements that can support the construction of screening protocols in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Retroaortic innominate vein is a rare anomaly. It has been reported in patients with congenital anomalies such as Tetralogy of Fallot or right aortic arch. However, isolated retroaortic innominate vein is quite rare.

A 63-year-old man was transferred to our institution because of Stanford type A acute aortic dissection. Incidentally, we noticed that the left innominate vein coursed under the aortic arch and was directed into the superior vena cava on computed tomography. We performed emergent hemiarch replacement.

The second major cause of death is cancer. In fact, the effectiveness of anticancer treatments and positive long-term prognosis for young women has increased. Selleck Iclepertin However, the problem of post-cancer infertility plays a significant role, because chemotherapy can be gonadotoxic and lead to the functional death of ovaries. There is potential key solution to this problem cryopreservation of ovarian tissue before cancer therapy with re-implantation after convalescence. Data regarding cryopreservation and re-transplantation of ovarian tissue from patients with ovarian insufficiency is limited. The aim of this treatment was the re-transplantation of cryopreserved ovarian tissue after anticancer therapy of patient with ovarian insufficiency (56 IU/l FSH, 8 ng/l β-estradiol, < 1.1 ng/ml anti-Mullerian hormone, 1 primary follicle per 10mm

).

After the operation, four tissue fragments (10-16 × 8-13 × 1.0-1.2 mm) were cooled to 5 °C in the freezing medium (culture medium+ 6% ethylene glycol+ 6% dimethyl sulfoxide+ 0.l at term.
