However, the dopamine D1 receptor (D1R) antagonist SCH23390 (7.5 nmol/side) prevented only pSer831-IR alone. Bilateral intra-CPu infusion of the Tat-GluA1D peptide (25 pmol/side), which interferes with the binding of pCaMKII to GluA1-Ser831, decreased the challenge nicotine-induced increase in locomotor activity.
These findings suggest that the GluA1-Ser831 phosphorylation in the MSNs of the CPu is required for the challenge nicotine-induced behavioral sensitization in rats. CaMKII activation linked to mGluR5 and NMDA receptors, but not to D1R, is essential for inducing the CaMKII-Ser831 interaction.

The aim of the study was to investigate and assess the incidence of silicosis cases acknowledged as occupational diseases in Poland in 2000-2019.
The cases of all medically recognized pneumoconioses, including silicoses, certified as occupational diseases were studied. The records were extracted from the Central Register of Occupational Diseases, the only official Polish central electronic data base of occupational diseases.
During the period 2000-2019, 2066 confirmed cases of silicoses and 10 665 cases of other pneumoconioses including asbestosis and coal workers' pneumoconiosis were reported to the Central Register of Occupational Diseases. Silicoses accounted for 12.8-21.2% of all pneumoconioses. The number of confirmed silicoses cases was growing along with the length of latency period and was the highest for the period of ≥40 years (513 cases). Over 70% of silicoses cases occurred after occupational exposure >20 years. The most workers who evolved silicosis were employed in manufacturing, predomlution computed tomography, has to be considered. The analysis should contribute into the implementation of silicosis preventative programmes, both at the enterprise and national level. In addition, emerging evidence has shown that maternal resveratrol supplementation diminishes cardio-metabolic disorders in offspring, highlighting its role in modulating adaptative responses involving phenotypical plasticity. Therefore, it is reasonable to infer that administration of resveratrol during pregnancy and lactation periods could be considered an important nutritional intervention to decrease the risk of maternal and offspring cardio-metabolic disorders. To highlight these new insights, this literature review will summarize the understanding emerging from experimental and clinical studies about resveratrol supplementation and its capacity to prevent or minimize maternal and offspring cardio-metabolic disorders.
The incorporation of a reduced-intensity conditioning (RIC) regimen in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) for patients with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) has decreased early mortality but is associated with a high rate of mixed chimerism and graft failure. Here, we present a successful single-center experience using busulfan and a fludarabine-based RIC regimen for the treatment of HLH.
The medical records of pediatric patients with HLH who underwent HCT using a busulfan/ fludarabine-based RIC regimen between January 2008 and December 2017 were reviewed retrospectively.
Nine patients received HCT with a busulfan/fludarabine-based RIC regimen. Three patients had primary HLH, and the other six patients had secondary HLH with multiple reactivations. All three patients with primary HLH had
mutations. All patients achieved neutrophil and platelet engraftment at a median of 11 days (range, 10‒21) and 19 days (range, 13‒32), and all eight evaluable patients had sustained complete donor chimerism at the last follow-up. Two patients (22%) experienced grade 2 acute graft-versus- host disease (GVHD). Two patients (22%) developed chronic GVHD, and one died from chronic GVHD. One patient (11%) experienced reactivation 4 months after HCT from a syngeneic donor and died of the disease. The 8-year overall survival and event-free survival rates were 78%. No early treatment-related mortality within 100 days after HCT was observed.
Our experience suggests that a busulfan/fludarabine-based RIC regimen is a viable option for pediatric patients with HLH who require HCT.

Nilotinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for frontline and 2nd line treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (Ph+ CML). This study aimed to confirm the safety and efficacy of nilotinib in routine clinical practice within South Korea.
An open-label, multicenter, single-arm, 12-week observational post-marketing surveillance (PMS) study was conducted on 669 Korean adult patients with Ph+ CML from December 24, 2010, to December 23, 2016. The patients received nilotinib treatment in routine clinical practice settings. Safety was evaluated by all types of adverse events (AEs) during the study period, and efficacy was evaluated by the complete hematological response (CHR) and cytogenetic response.
During the study period, AEs occurred in 61.3% (410 patients, 973 events), adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in 40.5% (271/669 patients, 559 events), serious AEs in 4.5% (30 patients, 37 events), and serious ADRs in 0.7% (5 patients, 8 events). Furthermore, unexpected AEs occurred at a rate of 6.9% (46 patients, 55 events) and unexpected ADRs at 1.2% (8 patients, 8 events). As for the efficacy results, CHR was achieved in 89.5% (442/494 patients), and minor cytogenetic response or major cytogenetic response was achieved in 85.8% (139/162 patients).
This PMS study shows consistent results in terms of safety and efficacy compared with previous studies. Nilotinib was well tolerated and efficacious in adult Korean patients with Ph+ CML in routine clinical practice settings.

A series of planar-chiral macrocycles bearing various ring sizes (18-member to 22-member) and various functional groups were generated with good to high enantioselectivities.Food waste is a potential resource to prepare microbial fertilizer. However, functional microorganisms derived from the food waste compost (FWC) are relatively lacking. We have isolated, identified, characterized and optimized a high-yielding indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) strain from FWC and further evaluated its growth promoting effect on plants. A IAA high-yielding strain, Providencia sp.Y, with an initial IAA yield of 139.98 mg L-1, was obtained through high-throughput screening, and identified by 16S rRNA gene sequence. The novel strain Y may simultaneously involve the following three pathways from L-tryptophan to IAA, which were identified using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (1) L-tryptophan-indole-3-ethanol-indole-3-acetaldehyde-indole-3-acetic acid; (2) L-tryptophan-1-hydroxy-indole-3-ethanol-indole-3-acetic acid; (3) L-tryptophan-indole-3-acetamide-indole-3-acetic acid. The most suitable comprehensive conditions for IAA production, which were optimized by single factor experiment, were culture time 12 h, inoculation amount 2% (v/v), NaCl concentration 4% (w/v), culture temperature 25℃, initial pH = 5, and L-tryptophan concentration 3.0 g L-1. The yield of IAA after optimization was increased by 590.48%, from 139.98 mg L-1 (before optimization) to 966.54 mg L-1. Diluted 200-fold microbial suspension could significantly improve the growth of pakchoi seedlings. The seedling plant height, root length, leaf width, leaf length, and fresh weight with microbial suspension increased by 17.39%, 107.35%, 77.98%, 37.75%, and 215.38%, respectively, compared with those without microbial suspension. The increase was greater than that of commercial bacterial agents. B02 In conclusion, this isolated strain can be used as an economical microbial inoculant and provides a new germplasm resource for developing microbial fertilizers.Polysaccharides from alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) (APS) exhibit a variety of bioactivities; however, little information is available on the effects of the ecological environment on the structural characteristics and bioactivities of APS. This study aimed to investigate the structural characteristics and bioactivities of two APS types isolated from alfalfa; these APSs were obtained from alfalfa cultured in normal soil (APS1) or saline-alkali soil (APS2). Results indicated that the two kinds of APS had the same monomer compositions in different molar proportions, where APS2 had greater content of arabinose and galacturonic acid than APS1. Furthermore, APS1 exhibited a greater molar mass of 1.77 × 105 g mol-1 as compared to 1.01 × 105 g mol-1 for APS2. Likewise, APS1 and APS2 had highly branched molecules with crosslinking nets composed of similar monomer residues but with different glycosidic linkages. Additionally, both APS significantly inhibited both adipogenesis and lipid accumulation in 3T3-L1 cells by downregulating mRNA expression of Ppar-γ, C/ebp-α, and Fas; APS2 had superior antiadipogenic effects as compared to APS1. Altogether, the ecological environment impacts the structural characteristics and biofunctions of APS, making them potential candidates for antiadipogenic use through functional food. These findings provide a novel perspective for the selection of phytogenic polysaccharides with specific bioactivities by considering growth environmental conditions. The synthesis and characterisation of the 1-(4-cyanobiphenyl-4'-yl)-10-(4-alkylanilinebenzylidene-4'-oxy)decanes (CB10O·m) are reported. This series shows a rich liquid crystal polymorphism including twist-bend nematic and smectic phases. All the homologues reported exhibit an enantiotropic conventional nematic phase. For the homologues with m ≤ 10, the local packing in the nematic phases and the layer spacing in the smectic phases indicates an intercalated arrangement of the molecules. An intercalated smectic CA phase is observed if m/11 ≈ 0.5. Either side of this condition, the twist-bend nematic phase is observed, a novel pattern of behaviour for a series on increasing a terminal chain length. For longer chain lengths, m = 12, 14, 16 and 18, two twist-bend smectic C (SmCTB) phases are observed, and the packing of the molecules is now of a bilayer-type. The higher temperature variant is termed SmCTB-SH in which SH (single helix) refers to the presence of a short, distorted clock-type helix. In the lower temperature SmCTB-DH phase, an additional longer helix is superimposed on the short one, and DH denotes double helix.
