TPL- PEI-CyD can even more significantly suppress the expression of Oct-4 and ALDHA1 in MCF-7 stem cells than TPL (P less then 0.05). In conclusion, after coupling TPL and PEI-CyD, TPL-PEI-CyD showed characteristics of effective suppression to breast carcinoma stem cell and decrease of cytotoxicity. It presented the unique effect of traditional Chinese medicine as an efficient and low toxic drug carrier complex for breast carcinoma treatment.This study was designed to analyze the pharmacological effects of Typha domingenesis crude 70% aqueous-ethanol extract of Typha domingensis (Td. Cr) in gastrointestinal, respiratory and vascular diseases. Rabbits (2.0-3.0 kg) and BALB/c mice (20-40 g) of local breed have been used as experimental animals using the established methodologies from literature with slight modification. The findings suggested that Typha domingensis caused complete relaxation of spontaneous and K+ (80mM)-induced contractions in isolated rabbit jejunum. Rightward parallel shift of calcium concentration response curves was observed. Typha domingensis exhibited relaxant effect on Carbachol (Cch)-induced contractions in isolated rabbit tracheal preparations. Furthermore, Typha domingensis caused relaxation of phenylephrine (1μM)- induced contractions in isolated rabbit aorta preparations. These effects were similar to verapamil, a standard calcium channel blocker. These findings could be the basis for explaining the spasmolytic, bronchodilator and vasodilator activities of the extract, through a possible calcium channel blocking activity.Clinical and hospital pharmacy services are not just medical and pharmaceutical sciences but also occupy significant placement in healthcare system. Pakistan is a developing state with a huge prerequisite for changes in the general wellbeing framework, specially hospital and clinical aspect of pharmaceutical services. The principal intention of this study is to analyze the services offered by different pharmacies in hospitals of Karachi in terms of infrastructure and personnel service qualities. The study was conducted in a cross sectional way that included stratified sampling technique. Reactions were broken down utilizing descriptive and inferential insights of measurements. The fundamental result procedures incorporated the scope of hospital pharmacy services, the general recruitment of clinical drug specialists (pharmacist), the product and equipment used in hospital pharmacy services, the background of staff (educational), acquisition of proficient training mode, practical involvement and experience. The clinical pharmacy facilities coverage mutually on the departmental scale (median =22.43%) and patient scale (median =17.25%) do not comply the 100% coverage that is obligatory for standard practices. In addition, 48.65% of the pooled hospitals data has shown absence of distinct administration rules for hospital and clinical pharmacists, and 45.33% lacks the use of rational drug software. It is concluded that important parameters like drug monitoring, medication records keeping; appropriate drug information software's and quality assurance in hospitals still need attention for better patient outcomes.Red kidney beans have antioxidant effect and thereby can help in skin smoothening, moisturizing, whitening and have anti-wrinkles effect. The study was based on the formulation of a stable w/o emulsion possessing extract of Phaseolus vulgaris L. seeds, using paraffin oil with the aim to investigate its effect on various skin parameters. The extract, achieved by concentrating ethanolic extract of red kidney beans was embedded in the internal aqueous part of w/o emulsion. An active formulation possessing concentrated extract of red kidney beans and a placebo formulation having no active material in the aqueous phase were formulated and placed at various conditions for the duration of 28 days, to observe the stability of cream. The placebo and formulation were stable at different storage conditions in terms of phase separation and colour changes. Minute liquefaction was observed from 21stday up to 28th day in formulations which were kept at 40°C +75% RH (relative humidity). With the passage of time significant changes were observed in formulation pH while insignificant changes were observed at basic pH. Different effects of creams i.e., placebo and formulations were observed on the human skin by applying them on the volunteer's cheeks for about 8 weeks. A stable w/o emulsion can be formulated by using red kidney beans' extract without any phase separation, liquefaction and colour change over 28 days storage.Rosa brunonii L., a less investigated plant contains flavonoid glycosides and is used to treat stomach ailments, heart problems, and diabetes in folk. The crude extract of the plant possesses antioxidant activity. The current work was aimed to investigate the presence of phytochemicals, antioxidative stress and protective potential of chloroform extract of the Rosa brunonii L. fruits (RBFCE) against liver and kidney toxicity induced by anti-tuberculosis drugs, rifampicin/isoniazid (Rif/INH) in Wistar albino rats. Animals were divided into six groups, each comprising 6 rats and fed with a standard pelleted diet. Normal control group was given only a standard pelleted diet. The vehicle control group received 0.5% carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) aqueous solution (vehicle). Negative and positive control groups were given Rif/INH (50+50 mg/kg, p.o) and silymarin (SILM) (200 mg/kg, p.o) in 0.5% vehicle for 30 days, respectively. Extract treated groups received low and high doses of RBFCE (500 mg/kg, p.o and 1000 mg/kg, p.o respectively) in 0.5% vehicle for 30 days. At a higher dose, animals showed significantly reduced Rif/INH induced toxicity in liver and kidney tissues as indicated by the normalized serum biochemical markers and histopathological investigations. The present exploration reveals the presence of strong antioxidant phytochemical constituents, antioxidative stress and protective potential of RBFCE against Rif/INH induced hepatic and renal damage.Cupric ions are hazardous to human beings and their removal from the body is very necessary. The blends of IRP69H (AMBERLITE IRP-69 [H+] RESIN), DC20H (DOWEX™ 20 [H+] Resin), DMSCH (DOWEX™ MARATHON™ MSC [H+] Resin) and Kappa Carrageenan (κ-) were utilized for the removal of ions of Cu2+ from the blood. They were subjected to docking studies which showed that there is no significant interaction with the blood albumin. DNA Damage inhibitor IER dose of 0.5 mg/10mL of IRP69H/κ-, DMSCH/κ-, and DC20H/κ- was essential for the 2+ ion removal. At pH 5.4, optimal 2+ ions adsorption efficiency was attained. The adsorption capacities of 2+ were in the order of IRP69H/κ->DC20H/κ->DMSCH/κ-. While the data fitted well to Freundlich, Langmuir and Dubinin-Radushkevich. Pseudo-second order was followed for 2+ adsorption for DMSCH/κ- and DC20H/κ- while the pseudo-first order was demonstrated well for IRP69H/κ-.
