Due to random motion of fetuses and maternal respirations, image quality of fetal brain MRIs varies considerably. To address this issue, visual inspection of the images is performed during acquisition phase and after 3D-reconstruction, and the images are re-acquired if they are deemed to be of insufficient quality. However, this process is time-consuming and subjective. Multi-instance (MI) deep learning methods (DLMs) may perform this task automatically.
To propose an MI count-based DLM (MI-CB-DLM), an MI vote-based DLM (MI-VB-DLM), and an MI feature-embedding DLM (MI-FE-DLM) for automatic assessment of 3D fetal-brain MR image quality. To quantify influence of fetal gestational age (GA) on DLM performance.

4 TECHNICAL EFFICACY Stage 3.Plasmonic photocatalysis is a promising approach for solar energy transformation. Comparing with isolated metal nanoparticles, the plasmonic coupling architectures can provide further strengthened local electromagnetic field and boosted light-harvesting capability through optimal control over the composition, spacing, and orientation of individual nanocomponents. As such, when integrated with semiconductor photocatalysts, the coupled metal nanostructures can dramatically promote exciton generation and separation through plasmonic-coupling-driven charge/energy transfer toward superior photocatalytic efficiencies. Herein, the principles of the plasmonic coupling effect are presented and recent progress on the construction of plasmonic coupling architectures and their integration with semiconductors for enhanced photocatalytic reactions is summarized. In addition, the remaining challenges as to the rational design and utilization of plasmon coupling structures are elaborated, and some prospects to inspire new opportunities on the future development of plasmonic coupling structures for efficient and sustainable light-driven reactions are raised.Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) resulting from bacterial infection is a prevalent medical problem in intensive care units (ICUs). The purpose of this study was to systematically review available studies on oral products employed to control and reduce VAP in patients undergoing tracheal intubation. This study was based on a systematic review of clinical trial data from science databases such as PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, and Web of science. Articles were reviewed and selected according to defined criteria and assessed by the primary evaluation checklist. After a critical review of 3,143 search hits, only 18 relevant articles were finally selected for discussion. Our assessment revealed that chlorhexidine and some other oral herbal medications are beneficial in preventing VAP. Chlorhexidine oral dosage forms provide a remarkable role in oral health and prevention of VAP by decreasing the microbial flora in the mouth. Because of similar benefits and comparable effects, some herbal medicines can be suggested as a practical alternative to chlorhexidine.
Exposure to alcohol advertising is associated with underage drinking, which contributes to adolescent morbidity and mortality. Alcohol advertisements are regulated by the alcohol industry. Our research team has published reports monitoring alcohol advertisers' compliance with industry guidelines. In this study, we estimated (1) changes in youth and adult exposure to alcohol advertisements on cable television from 2016-19 and (2) changes in youth exposure to types of non-compliant advertising highlighted in monitoring reports over the same period.
Interrupted time-series analysis using data from Nielsen US national television audience estimates, 2012-19.
Outcome was advertising impressions (the total number of times an alcohol advertisement was viewed by youth or adults) by month. Non-compliant exposure was impressions from advertisements that did not meet guidelines. Covariates were advertising spending in multiple media categories. Previous studies suggest an association between maternal tobacco and caffeine consumption during and outside of pregnancy and offspring mental health. We aimed to separate effects of the maternal environment (intrauterine or postnatal) from pleiotropic genetic effects.
Secondary analysis of a longitudinal study. We (i) validated smoking and caffeine genetic risk scores (GRS) derived from published genome-wide association study (GWAS) for use during pregnancy, (ii) compared estimated effects of maternal and offspring GRS on childhood mental health outcomes and (iii) tested associations between maternal and offspring GRS on their respective outcomes.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neuroinflammatory disease and inflammation and oxidative stress play important roles in its pathology. Thiol/disulphide homeostasis (TDH) is a special oxidative stress biomarker that has been found to be affected in several disorders including MS. There is no study demonstrating the effects of attack status of the relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients on TDH levels. Our aim was to determine TDH levels in three different periods of RRMS patients and healthy individuals.
The study was carried out in 29 patients with RRMS without a prior attack in the last twelve months (MS Control), 21 RRMS patients having a clinical acute attack within the last week (MS relapse), 12 of 21 MS relapse patients one month after the onset of attack and following 1000mg methylprednisolone for 7days (MS Remission) and 30 age- and sex-matched healthy individuals. TDH status was determined using an automated spectrophotometric analysis method. Many are faced with increased stress, and other negative effects on their mental health. They are also faced with the possibility of infection and death from COVID-19. Before the pandemic there was a global shortage of nurses, but this is likely to be exacerbated by the increased demands of caring during COVID-19 as well as the usual care of non-COVID patients. One serious concern is that the pandemic and multitudinous effects on the nursing profession will exacerbate nursing attrition and their poor mental health into the future. Another serious concern is whether the profession will be able to attract sufficient numbers of nurses to care for populations into the future. Governments and health policymakers everywhere need to invest in nursing and health care and pay attention to the needs of health systems to ensure a healthy population. It is argued that without this, economies will not recover and prosper, and health systems will not be able to provide quality care.Preparing the world to manage future pandemics must take priority. It is clear that we were not prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic which continues to cause great suffering around the world. Nurses and other health professionals everywhere must be involved in health policy planning and implementation of public health measures to combat this and future pandemics. Such preparation needs community policy involvement at grassroots levels and needs to be collaboratively instigated at international levels. The death so far of over 2000 nurses is unacceptable in this pandemic, and we need to better protect and sustain the workforce. The International Council of Nurses has been instrumental in data gathering of nurses' experiences during COVID-19. Key points from analysis of this data have been included in Second Progress Report of the World Health Organization's Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. This paper summarises the key messages from this report, as well as the nursing shortage. The country witnessed in a one-year series of tragedies of epic dimensions - laying a heavy toll on front-line nurses. We present our stories as eight Lebanese nurses, giving voice to our incredible experiences and our ongoing resilience in the face of these adversities. We served in the emergency department of a Beirut city hospital after a catastrophic explosion occurred in the capital on the 4th of August 2020. We reported for duty during a disaster of immense magnitude and are now coping with the aftermath of trauma. As nurses, we have faced many traumas in our country that has experienced through war and terrorism for decades. Arising from this disaster and challenges of the pandemic, we give policy recommendations that deserve urgent attention in Lebanon and underscore the need for disaster preparation, funding, education and importantly mental health care for nurses and other health professionals with help and support of the international community.
Fermented foods have been consumed for millennia and commercially-produced variants are now available in the food supply. The present study aimed to investigate the availability, cost, ingredients, nutritional content and on-pack claims of commercially-available fermented foods in the UK.
All products from seven categories of commercially-available fermented foods were systematically identified at eight national supermarket chains in the UK. Data were extracted from manufacturer and retailer websites and were compared between categories using a Kruskal-Wallis test and Fisher's exact test.
In total, 143 fermented foods were identified, with kombucha (41, 28.7%), kefir drinks (32, 22.4%), sauerkraut (22, 15.4%) and kefir yoghurts (21, 14.7%) being most common. The number of products sold at each retailer differed between categories (p=0.016), and was greatest for kefir drink (median=7.0, interquartile range [IQR]=9.0), kombucha (median=5.5, IQR=11.5) and kefir yoghurts (median=5.0, IQR=8.5).
