Confocal and electron microscopy confirmed the pronounced involvement of ferritinophagy in FC-induced ferroptosis in the cells with elevated NCOA4. Since ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic form of cell death, our data suggest FC has chemotherapeutic potential against apoptosis-resistant HCC with a higher NCOA4 expression via ferritinophagy.Sensor networks in real-world environments, such as smart cities or ambient intelligent platforms, provide applications with large and heterogeneous sets of data streams. Outliers-observations that do not conform to an expected behavior-has then turned into a crucial task to establish and maintain secure and reliable databases in this kind of platforms. However, the procedures to obtain accurate models for erratic observations have to operate with low complexity in terms of storage and computational time, in order to attend the limited processing and storage capabilities of the sensor nodes in these environments. In this work, we analyze three binary classifiers based on three statistical prediction models-ARIMA (Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average), GAM (Generalized Additive Model), and LOESS (LOcal RegrESSion)-for outlier detection with low memory consumption and computational time rates. As a result, we provide (1) the best classifier and settings to detect outliers, based on the ARIMA model, and (2) two real-world classified datasets as ground truths for future research. The effects of heat treatment on the microstructure evolution was studied in regards to austenite nucleation and grain growth. It was found that the austenite nucleation and matrix recrystallization kinetics of samples annealed at 675 °C for different times were revealed, implying a strong interaction between the ferrite matrix and austenite was revealed. The recrystallization of the matrix during annealing provided favorable conditions for austenite nucleation and growth, and the formation of austenite during this process reduced the matrix recrystallization kinetics, thus delaying the recrystallization process of the matrix around the austenite grains. The statistical results for the austenite grain size under different annealing temperatures indicated that the average grain size of the austenite slightly increases with increasing of the annealing temperature, but the austenite with the largest grain size grows faster at the same temperature. This difference is attributed to the strict Kurdjumov Sachs (KS) orientation relationship (OR) between the austenite grains and the matrix, because the growth of austenite with a strict KS OR with the matrix is often inhibited during annealing. In contrast, the austenite maintains a non-strict KS OR with the matrix and can grow preferentially with increasing annealing temperature and time.Inorganic acids are commonly used in mining, metallurgical, metal-processing, and nuclear-fuel-reprocessing industries in various processes, such as leaching, etching, electroplating, and metal-refining. Large amounts of spent acidic liquids containing toxic metal ion complexes are produced during these operations, which pose a serious hazard to the living and non-living environment. Developing economic and eco-friendly regeneration approaches to recover acid and valuable metals from these industrial effluents has focused the interest of the research community. Diffusion dialysis (DD) using anion exchange membranes (AEMs) driven by an activity gradient is considered an effective technology with a low energy consumption and little environmental contamination. In addition, the properties of AEMs have an important effect on the DD process. Hence, this paper gives a critical review of the properties of AEMs, including their acid permeability, membrane stability, and acid selectivity during the DD process for acid recovery. Furthermore, the DD processes using AEMs integrated with various technologies, such as pressure, an electric field, or continuous operation are discussed to enhance its potential for industrial applications. Finally, some directions are provided for the further development of AEMs in DD for acid recovery from acidic waste solutions.Cactus pears face challenges due to global climate change, which is leading to in-depth research to monitor and increase their water activity. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of the natural test hydrogel (TH) from Orbignya phalerata fibre as nutrients and water for growing cactus pear genotypes ("Baiana" and "Doce" [Nopalea cochenillifera], 'Gigante' [Opuntia fícus-indica], and "Mexican Elephant Ear" [Opuntia stricta]) compared to the use of commercial hydrogel (CH), which is based on polymers composed of polyacrylamide, and a treatment without the use of hydrogel (WH). A completely randomized design was used, in a factorial scheme (4 × 3), with four genotypes of cactus pear and three forms of hydration, with five replications. The number and area of cladode was greatest (p less then 0.01) in plants with CH and TH irrigation-fertilization in the 'Doce' cactus genotype. The dry biomass of the cladode and root in the 'Gigante' cactus genotype was greatest (p less then 0.01) in the treatments with CH and TH irrigation-fertilisation. The 'Baiana', 'Doce', and 'Gigante' cactus genotypes exhibited more (p less then 0.01) dry matter content with the TH irrigation-fertilisation. The highest (p less then 0.01) neutral detergent fibre content was observed in the 'Baiana' and 'Doce' cactus genotypes when irrigation occurred with WH treatment, and the highest acid detergent fibre content in the 'Gigante' genotype. The copolymerized natural fibre from the mesocarp of Orbignya phalerata (babassu fruit) induced a better growth and chemical composition of cactus pear genotypes than the hydrogel based on polymers composed of polyacrylamide. This study aims to study the freeze-thaw (F-T) resistance of asphalt mixture incorporating styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer and basalt fiber by using the established complex master curves of the generalized Sigmoidal model. Asphalt mixture samples incorporating styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer and basalt fiber were manufactured following the Superpave gyratory compaction (SGC) method and coring as well as sawing. After 0-21 F-T cycles processing, a complex modulus test asphalt mixture specimen was performed to evaluate the influence of the F-T cycle. Besides, according to the time-temperature superposition principle, the master curves of a complex modulus were constructed to reflect the dynamic mechanical response in an extended range of reduced frequency at an arbitrary temperature. The results indicated that the elastic and viscous portions of asphalt mixture incorporating SBS and basalt fiber have decreased overall. It could be observed from the dynamic modulus ratio that the dynamic modulus ratios of specimens were more affected by the F-T cycle at low frequency or high temperature. Thus, in the process of asphalt pavement design and maintenance, attention should be paid to seasonal frozen asphalt pavement under low frequency and high temperature.

Primary heart tumors (PHTs) in the pediatric population are very rare and do not manifest any characteristic symptoms.

A retrospective analysis of 61 cases was undertaken. Data from three centers for the years 2003-2018 were gathered. The tumors' clinical course, location, number, hemodynamic, treatment, and follow-up were evaluated. Echocardiography was complemented with magnetic resonance imaging, computer tomography, and histopathological examination.

Out of 61 PHT diagnoses, 56 (91.8%) were circumstantial including all 16 (26.2%) prenatal tumors. The reasons for cardiological consultations were arrhythmia, syncopes, lowered physical performance, and murmurs. Only five patients (8.2%) were suspected of tumors based on previous symptoms of sclerosis tuberosa. Rhabdomyoma was the most frequently found PHT (60.7%). The tumors were predominantly located in the ventricles (49.1%) and intraventricular septum (14.9%) and tended to be single (70.5%). About 37.7% of patients suffered from coexistent multi-orgon. Life-saving operation allows improvement, while the prognosis for malignant tumors in children is definitely unfavorable.Cerebral vasospasm and subsequent delayed ischemic neurological deficit is a typical sequela of acute subarachnoid hemorrhage after aneurysm rupture. The occurrence of vasospasms after uncomplicated surgery of an unruptured aneurysm without history of suspected rupture is extremely rare. The pathogenesis and severity of cerebral vasospasms is typically correlated with the amount of blood breakdown products extravasated during subarachnoid hemorrhage. In rare cases, where vasospasms occur after unruptured aneurysm surgery, the pathogenesis is most likely multifactorial and unclear. We present two cases of vasospasms following uncomplicated clipping of middle cerebral artery (MCA) aneurysms and a review of literature. Early diagnosis and therapy of this rare complication are necessary to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.Epithelioid sarcoma is a mesenchymal soft tissue sarcoma often arising in the extremities, usually in young adults with a pick of incidence at 35 years of age. Epithelioid sarcoma (ES) is characterized by the loss of SMARCB1/INI1 (integrase interactor 1) or other proteins of the SWI/SNF complex. Two distinct types, proximal and distal, with varying biology and treatment outcomes, are distinguished. ES is known for aggressive behavior, including a high recurrence rate and regional lymph node metastases. An optimal long-term management strategy is still to be defined. The best treatment of localized ES is wide surgical resection. Neo-adjuvant or adjuvant radiotherapy may be recommended, as it reduces the local recurrence rate. Sentinel lymph node biopsy should be considered in ES patients. Patients with metastatic ES have a poor prognosis with an expected median overall survival of about a year. Doxorubicin-based regimens are recommended for advanced ES. Tazemetostat, an EZH2 methyltransferase, has shown promising results in ES patients. Novel therapies, including immunotherapy, are still needed.Several geographically isolated populations of Tibetan pigs inhabit the high-altitude environment of the Tibetan Plateau. Their genetic relationships, contribution to the pool of genetic diversity, and their origin of domestication are unclear. In this study, whole-genome re-sequencing data from 10 geographically isolated Tibetan pig populations were collected and analyzed. EN4 Population genetic analyses revealed limited genetic differentiation among the Tibetan pig populations. Evidence from deleterious variant analysis indicated that population-specific deleterious variants were the major component of all mutational loci. Contribution to the meta-population was largest in the TT (Qinghai-Tibet Plateau) population, based on gene diversity or allelic diversity. Selective sweep analysis revealed numerous genes, including RXFP1, FZD1, OR1F1, TBX19, MSTN, ESR1, MC1R, HIF3A, and EGLN2 which are involved in lung development, hard palate development, coat color, hormone metabolism, facial appearance, and perception of smell. These findings increase our understanding of the origins and domestication of the Tibetan pig, and help optimize the strategy for their conservation.
