Using an online survey, 137 participants were exposed to four anti-obesity public health advertisements presented in random order. Weight satisfaction, shape satisfaction, desire to control weight, desire to control shape and desire to engage in UWCB were measured on a 100-point visual analogue scale. A significant effect of the experimental condition was found after exposure to Image 1 with a decrease in weight satisfaction, and increased desire to control body weight, body shape and engage in UWCB. Mean scores for UWCB also increased, on average, across all four image conditions. Public health advertisements targeting obesity risk encouraging unhealthy weight control and subsequent disordered eating behaviours. The global emergence of drug resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae has resulted in the use of a range of antibiotics and is now a public health concern because this pathogen may become untreatable in the future. This study aimed to detect antimicrobial-resistant determinants in N. gonorrhoeae directly from endocervical specimens.
Three hundred seven pregnant women were enrolled in this study. Endocervical swabs were collected from consenting women and used for the detection of N. gonorrhoeae. Molecular indicators associated with penicillin, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, azithromycin, spectinomycin, cefixime, and ceftriaxone resistance were detected by polymerase chain reaction.
Of the 307 women, 24 (7.8%) tested positive for N. gonorrhoeae. The tetM gene carried on the American-type plasmid was shown to be present in all the specimens. Approximately 87.5% of the specimens carried the penicillinase-producing African-type plasmid, and the gyrase A gene carrying the Ser-91 mutation was shown to be present in 37.5% of the specimens. Mutations associated with azithromycin, spectinomycin, cefixime, and ceftriaxone resistance were not detected in the study specimens.

This study aimed to investigate additional risk stratification benefits of hepatic steatosis (HS) concurrently assessed during coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) in a large patient cohort with suspected stable coronary artery disease (CAD).
In this prospective study, 1148 Japanese outpatients without a history of CAD who underwent coronary CTA for suspected stable CAD (mean age 64 ± 14 years) were included. HS, defined on CT as a hepatic-to-spleen attenuation ratio of <1.0, was examined just before the evaluation of adverse CTA findings, defined as obstructive and/or high-risk plaque. The major adverse cardiac events (MACE) were the composite of cardiac death, acute coronary syndrome, and late revascularization. The incremental predictive value of HS was evaluated using the global χ2 test and C-statistic. HS was identified in 247 (22%) patients. During a median follow-up of 3.9 years, MACE was observed in 40 (3.5%) patients. HS was significantly associated with MACE in a model that included adverse CTA findings (hazard ratio 4.01, 95% confidence interval 2.12-7.59, P < 0.001). By adding HS to the Framingham risk score and adverse CTA findings, the global χ2 score and C-statistic significantly increased from 29.0 to 49.5 (P < 0.001) and 0.74 to 0.81 (P = 0.026), respectively. In subgroup analyses in patients with diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome, HS had significant additive predictive value for MACE over the Framingham risk score and adverse CTA findings.
