Recordings were fully transcribed and narratives were analysed with the RQDA package and the R software. Triangulations and the criteria proposed by Guba and Lincon were used to assess the approach validity. This analysis revealed that in addition to 'lack of means', zoonosis control programmes can be hindered by overlapping authority/functions among the involved authorities, conflicts of interest, lack of proper training and professional practices. Zoonosis control requires the commitment of all structures, the establishment of a national and inter-regional strategy, and the updating of the legislative arsenal.Previous studies have observed a link between gender and well-being and health in young populations. The purpose of this research was twofold (1) to analyse the cross-sectional relationship between gender status with well-being indicators and self-perceived health in adolescents at baseline and at 2-year follow-up and (2) to evaluate the prospective associations between gender at baseline and well-being indicators/self-perceived health assessed at 2-year follow-up. Well-being was measured using the KIDSCREEN-10 questionnaire (as a measure of health-related quality of life (HR-QoL)), the Children's Hope Scale and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. SNDX-5613 Health status of the adolescents was assessed using self-perceived health. Multilevel mixed-effects linear/logistic regression models were carried out to assess the associations between gender status and well-being and health of a sample of 1590 Spanish adolescents. Adolescent girls were shown to have lower HR-QoL scores and higher negative affect scores, and had a higher risk of reporting poor health than boys, in both cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses. Adolescent girls seem to be more vulnerable to poorer well-being and self-reported health than boys. When looking at hedonic and eudemonic well-being separately, longitudinal differential evolution of boys and girls seems to indicate greater deterioration of hedonic well-being among girls as compared to boys. Overall, gender may have a relevant impact on mental and physical health during adolescence.
Compound hemizygous variants in SERPINA7 gene.
Thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG) is encoded by SERPINA7 (OMIM. 314200) which is located on Xq22.3. SERPINA7 variants caused TBG deficiency which does not require treatment, but the decreased thyroxine may be misdiagnosed as hypothyroidism. We discovered some variants of TBG caused by alterations that differ from previously reported.
In this study, we enrolled 32 subjects from 10 families and sequenced the SERPINA7 genes of TBG-deficient subjects. Then, variants were analyzed to assess their effect on TBG expression and secretion. Bioinformatics database, protein structure, and dynamics simulation were used to evaluate the deleterious effects. Finally, we identified 2 novel and 4 known variants, and found 26 of 30 subjects carried the p.L303F. The DynaMut predictions indicated the variants (p.E91K, p.I92T, p.R294C, and p.L303F) exhibited decreased stability.
Analyses revealed the p.L303F change the protein stability and flexibility, and it had an impact on the function of TBG, but when coexisted with other variants it might change the conformational structure of the protein and aggravate the damage to the protein. We speculated that the existence of a higher number of variants resulted in lower TBG secretion.

To perform a bibliometric analysis of research on articular cartilage repair published in Chinese and English over the past decade. Fundamental and clinical research topics of high interest were further comparatively analyzed.
Relevant studies published from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2018 (10 years) were retrieved from the Wanfang database (Chinese articles) and six databases, including MEDLINE, WOS, INSPEC, SCIELO, KJD, and RSCI on the website "Web of Science" (English articles), using key words "articular cartilage" AND "injury" AND "repair". The articles were categorized according to research focuses for a comparative analysis between those published in Chinese vs English, and further grouped according to publication date (before and after 2014). A comparative analysis was performed on research focus to characterize the variation in research trends between two 5-year time spans. Moreover, articles were classified as basic and clinical research studies.
Overall, 5762 articles were retrieved, incluls (21.9%), microfracture (19.2%), tissue scaffold (10.6%), osteochondral autograft (10.5%), osteochondral allograft (6.3%), and periosteal transplantation (2.8%).
Studies focused on stem cells and tissue-engineered scaffolds led the field of damaged articular cartilage repair. International researchers studied allograft-related implantation approaches more often than Chinese researchers. Traditional surgical techniques, such as microfracture and osteochondral transplantation, gained high research interest over the past decade.

By using micro-CT scans of in-situ prepared lung casts, tracheobronchial airway morphometry for four strains of mice were obtained Balb/c, AJ, C57BL/6, and Apoe-/- . The automated tracheobronchial airway morphometry algorithms for airway length and diameter were successfully verified against previously published manual and automated tracheobronchial airway morphometry data derived from two identical in-situ Balb/c mouse lung casts. There was also excellent agreement in tracheobronchial airway length and diameter between the automated and manual airway data for the AJ, C57BL/6, and Apoe-/- mice. Differences in branch angle measurements were partially due to the differences in definition between the automated algorithms and manual morphometry techniques. Unlike the manual airway morphometry techniques, the automated algorithms were able to provide a value for inclination to gravity for each airway.
