Caregivers' PSS scores were higher in mothers than fathers. An association was found between the PSS scores of the caregivers and all psychological symptoms questioned in the study for children, except for encopresis. Lower education level of the father, lower family income, having a child with a psychiatric disease, impaired sibling relationship, and impaired functionality at home were risk factors for higher caregivers' PSS scores.

It may be beneficial to take supportive measures in terms of protecting children's mental health.

This paper aimed to evaluate the amino acids profile (essential and non-essential) and pigments composition (chlorophyll a, carotenoids, and phycocyanin) of Arthrospira platensis (a blue-green microalga) cultivation in a flat-plate photobioreactor under various types of light-emitting diodes (red 620-680 nm, white 380-780 nm, yellow 570-600nm, blue 445-480 nm). The maximum biomass concentration (604.96 mg L-1) occurred when the red LED was applied for cultivation, and the minimum biomass concentration (279.39 mg L-1) was obtained under blue LED. The sequence of pigments and amino acids concentrations (mg L-1culture volume) was approximately in accordance with the biomass productivity. It means the red light produces the maximum concentration of pigments (chlorophyll a 5.42, carotenoids 2.92, phycocyanin 67.54 mg L-1) and amino acids (essential amino acids 110.47, nonessential amino acids 179.10 mg L-1). Nevertheless, when these values were measured in mg per g of dry weight, the utmost contents were observed in microalgal products cultivated under blue LED. These consequences are due to the highest cell productivity and the most extended length of cells that occurred under red and blue LEDs, respectively.

To develop a protocol and a clinical tool to assess the audiological needs of younger and older adults with hearing loss.

A needs assessment protocol was developed based on recommendations of an expert panel, existing literature, the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, client-centered care and goal setting. The protocol was reviewed by the expert panel. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with clinical audiologists to validate its content and explore its clinical applicability. A clinical tool was developed to make the administration of the protocol more uniform.

15 experts and 14 clinical audiologists.

Feedback received from the participants (experts and clinicians) supported the content validity of the needs assessment protocol and clinical tool. The topics covered within the protocol and tool include Audiological needs (activity limitations, participation restrictions, environmental factors), Living conditions (social networks, living environment), Personal factors, Discussion with the client to define the intervention plan, and Recommendations.

A protocol and a clinical tool were developed to help audiologists and clients undertake a comprehensive audiological needs assessment. The content validity of the protocol and tool were demonstrated. Their use can facilitate the delivery of a client-centered assessment using a uniform and comprehensive approach.

For this purpose, signals are acquired from fifty-eight healthy volunteers under dynamic muscle fatiguing contractions. The sEMG signals are preprocessed and the epochs of signals under nonfatigue and fatigue conditions are considered for the analysis. A computationally effective Fast Fourier transform based accumulation algorithm is adapted to compute the spectral correlation density coefficients. The boundary of spectral density coefficients in the complex plane is obtained using alpha shape method. The geometric features, namely, perimeter, area, circularity, bending energy, eccentricity and inertia are extracted from the shape and the machine learning models based on multilayer perceptron (MLP) and extreme learning machine (ELM) are developed using these biomarkers. The results show that the cyclostationarity increases in fatigue condition. All the extracted features are found to have significant difference in the two conditions. learn more It is found that the ELM model based on prominent features classifies the sEMG signals with a maximum accuracy of 94.09% and F-score of 93.75%. Therefore, the proposed approach appears to be useful for analysing the fatiguing contractions in neuromuscular conditions.Using the statistical approach, this work seeks to optimize the process parameters to boost the generation of an organic solvent-tolerant lipase by Staphylococcus capitis SH6. The main parameters influencing the enzyme production were identified by using Plackett-Burman's screening design. Among the test variables, only tryptone (25 g/L), malt extract (2.5 g/L), NaCl (10 g/L) and pH (7.0) contributed positively to enzyme production. Then, the crude lipase was immobilized by adsorption on CaCO3 at pH 10. A maximum immobilization efficiency of 82% was obtained by incubating 280 mg of enzyme with CaCO3 (1 g) during 30 min. The immobilized lipase was more stable toward organic solvents than the free enzyme. It retained about 90% of its original activity in the presence of ethanol and methanol. After that, the immobilized enzyme was used for biodiesel production by transesterification process between waste oil and methanol or ethanol during 24 h at 30 °C. Our results show that the lipase can be utilized efficiently in biodiesel industry. Likewise, we have demonstrated that the immobilized enzyme may be implicated in the biodegradability of waste grease; the maximum conversion yield into fatty acids obtained after 12 h at 30 °C, was 57%.Attention to concussion prevention and management has grown in recent years due to the potentially long-term, debilitating effects a head injury can have on an individual. Although multiple campaigns have been designed to target this issue, there remains a need to evaluate the persuasive principles used to advocate for safety measures and protocols, specifically within youth sports. With this in mind, we applied the health belief model (HBM) in our content analysis of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Heads Up concussion awareness campaign. Campaign videos (N = 35) were coded for threat severity, threat susceptibility, benefits, barriers, self-efficacy, and cues to action. The majority of videos communicated the seriousness of concussions and attempts to communicate concussion susceptibility were driven by personal stories, rather than facts and statistics demonstrating concussion prevalence. Less than half of the videos communicated the benefits of following concussion protocols and only a third of the messages described barriers to following recommended protocols. The majority of videos aimed to elevate self-efficacy among athletes and parents, but not coaches, by focusing on identifying symptoms and concussion avoidance. The implications for concussion prevention and management among athletes, parents, and coaches are discussed.Being sessile in nature, plants cannot overlook the incursion of unfavorable environmental conditions, including heat and drought. Heat and drought severely affect plant growth, development, reproduction and therefore productivity which poses a severe threat to global food security. Plants respond to these hostile environmental circumstances by rearranging their genomic and molecular architecture. One such modification commonly known as epigenetic changes involves the perishable to inheritable changes in DNA or DNA-binding histone proteins leading to modified chromatin organization. Reversible epigenetic modifications include DNA methylation, exchange of histone variants, histone methylation, histone acetylation, ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling, and others. These modifications are employed to regulate the spatial and temporal expression of genes in response to external stimuli or specific developmental requirements. Understanding the epigenetic regulation of stress-related gene expression in response to heat and drought would commence manifold avenues for crop improvement through molecular breeding or biotechnological approaches. The roots of Salvia spinosa L. (Lamiaceae) were extracted with hexane, dichloromethane (DCM) and ethyl acetate. The DCM extract exhibited cytotoxic activity (IC50 32.7 µg/mL) against MFC-7 breast cancer cell line in MTT colorimetric bioassay. Ferruginol (1), taxodione (2), 12-deoxy-6-hydroxy-6,7-dehydroroyleanone (3), 14-deoxycoleon U (4), 15-deoxyfuerstione (5) and taxodone (6) were isolated from the DCM roots extract. Their structures were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic analyses including EIMS and 1H- and 13C NMR spectra. The cytotoxicity of compound 3 was determined against MCF-7 and K562 cell lines and compared with the other compounds. A pharmacophore model was built based on potent input compounds to resolve important pharmacophore features responsible for cytotoxic activity of the isolated compounds.Metal-ceramics (MC) are one of the oldest dental restorative systems, which are considered to be the gold standard for full crown restoration. Porcelain-veneered lithium disilicate (PVLD), on the other hand, are newer material systems that have shown high survival rate in clinical follow-ups but needs to be studied more. This study compares the stresses developed in the single crowns made from newer PVLD system against those with MC configuration. For this comparison, influence of the layer thickness and cooling rates is also taken into consideration. An experimentally validated viscoelastic finite element model (VFEM) has been developed to predict the stress profile in these systems. Three-dimensional rotationally symmetric crowns were analyzed using this validated model for both material systems, three veneer to core thickness ratios (21, 11, 12), and two cooling rates slow cooling at 1.74E-5 W/mm2K (∼30 K/min) and fast cooling at 1.74E-4 W/mm2K (∼300 K/min). PVLD showed lower values of transient and residual stresses than MC. The maximum tensile residual stresses in MC systems were observed in the cusp area, whereas those in PVLD were located in the central fossa. With the reduction in veneer layer, there was reduction in residual stress in MC; however, the veneer thickness had little to no effect in PVLD. The effect of cooling rate was also evident as slow cooling resulted in lower residual and tensile stresses for both material systems.
