Of the mental illnesses recorded, people with depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorder or bipolar disorder were significantly more likely to share their mental health data than people without mental illness.
These findings suggest that positive experiences of health services and personal experience of mental illness are associated with greater willingness to share mental health data. NHS satisfaction is a potentially modifiable factor that could foster public support for increased use of NHS mental health data in research.

This paper investigated how second- and third-trimester gestational weight gain relates to perinatal outcomes among normal weight women with twin pregnancies in Fujian, China.
A retrospective study examining the medical records of 931 normal weight twin-pregnant women was conducted in Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital from 2014 to 2018.The 2
and 3
trimester weekly weight gain rates were calculated, and women were categorized as gaining below, within, or above the 2009 Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommended rates. The association between the trimester-specific weight gain rate and perinatal outcome was determined by traditional regression analysis among groups.
A total of 25.9%, 19.8% and 54.3% of women had rates of weight gain across the 2
and 3
trimesters less than, greater than or within the recommended rates respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that weight gain greater than the recommended rate in the 2
trimester was associated with a decreased risk of prethe 3
trimester showed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes compared to the 2
trimester weight gain groups.
While this study showed that a gestational weight gain rate above or below the recommendation in the 3
trimester was associated with some adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes, further prospective and multicentre studies are required to explore alternate ranges of gestational weight gain rates in twin pregnancies.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a public health concern. We wanted to determine if various environmental and socioeconomic variables as well as markers of antimicrobial use impacted on the level of AMR in countries of different income levels.
We performed cross-national univariate and multivariable analyses using the national proportion of quinolone-resistant Escherichia coli (QREC) in blood culture as the dependent variable. Access to safe water and sanitation, other socioeconomic variables, and human and animal antimicrobial consumption were analysed.
In middle-income countries, unsafely managed sanitation, corruption and healthcare access and quality were significantly associated with the national proportion of blood culture QREC (%) in univariate analyses, whereas no variables remained significant in the multivariable models. For the multivariable high-income country model, corruption and healthcare access and quality were significantly associated with blood culture QREC (%) levels. For the model including all countries, human fluoroquinolone use, corruption level, livestock and crop production index were significantly associated with blood culture QREC (%) levels in the univariate analyses.
Corruption is a strong predictor of AMR, likely reflecting a multitude of socioeconomic factors. Sanitation quality contributed to increased blood culture QREC (%) levels in middle-income countries, although was not an independent factor, highlighting the need to also focus on infrastructure such as sanitation services in the context of AMR.

Neonatal disorders (ND) are a significant global health issue. This article aimed to track the global trends of neonatal disorders in 204 countries/territories from 1990 to 2019.
Data was explored from the Global Burden of Disease study 2019. Estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) and age-standardized rate (ASR) were calculated to quantify the trends of neonatal disorders and their specific causes, mainly included neonatal preterm birth (NPB), neonatal encephalopathy due to birth asphyxia and trauma (NE), neonatal sepsis and other neonatal infections (NS), and hemolytic disease and other neonatal jaundice (HD).
In 2019, there were 23,532.23 × 10
incident cases of ND, and caused 1882.44 × 10
death worldwide. During 1990-2019, trends in the overall age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) of ND was relatively stable, but that of age-standardized death rate (ASDR) declined (EAPC = -1.51, 95% confidence interval [CI] -1.66 to -1.36). Meanwhile, decreasing trends of ASDR were observed in most regions and countries, particularly Cook Islands and Estonia, in which the respective EAPCs were -9.04 (95%CI -9.69 to -8.38) and -8.12 (95%CI -8.46 to -7.77). Among the specific four causes, only the NPB showed decreasing trends in the ASIR globally (EAPC = -0.19, 95%CI -0.26 to -0.11). Decreasing trends of ASDR caused by ND underlying specific causes were observed in most regions, particularly the HD in Armenia, with the EAPC was -13.08 (95%CI -14.04 to -12.11).
Decreasing trends of death caused by neonatal disorders were observed worldwide from 1990 to 2019. However, the burden of neonatal disorders is still a considerable challenge, especially in low-resource settings, which need more effective health strategies.

Evaluate the prevalence of cardiometabolic conditions among schizophrenia patients before and incidence after initiation of high (HWGR) and low weight gain risk (LWGR) antipsychotic (AP) regimens.
A retrospective observational cohort study was conducted using administrative claims data from the IBM® MarketScan Commercial and Multi-State Medicaid Databases. Patients with > 1 medical claim with a diagnosis for schizophrenia and newly initiating AP therapy between 1/1/11-6/30/16 were included. Baseline characteristics were assessed in the 12-months before AP initiation; outcomes over 24-months following AP initiation. Patients were characterized by the AP regimen initiated at the index date. Adherence was defined by a medication possession ratio > 0.8 (medication on hand for 80% of follow-up). Multivariate modeling identified predictors of index AP weight gain risk profile and post-index dyslipidemia.
Two thousand seven hundred forty-eight commercially-insured and 8,748 Medicaid patients met the inclpy. However, this does not appear to be related to the weight gain risk profile of the AP regimen.
Assess the associations between ten severe maternal hardships and food insecurity experienced during pregnancy.
Data on 14,274 low-income/lower-income women (below 400% of the income to federal poverty guideline ratio) from the statewide-representative 2010-2012 California Maternal and Infant Health Assessment were used to estimate food security status prevalence. Prevalence of severe maternal hardships by food security status was estimated. Multinomial logistic regression was used to assess the associations between severe maternal hardship and food security status, adjusting for sociodemographic characteristics.
Food insecurity was common among low- and lower-income pregnant women in California; 23.4% food insecure and an additional 11.5% marginally secure. In adjusted analysis, nine of ten hardships were associated with food security status. Only the respondent or someone close to the respondent having a problem with alcohol or drugs was not associated with food security status after adjusting for socng prenatal care and nutritional assistance-for a large proportion of pregnant women should address a wide range of serious unmet social needs including food insecurity.
Within the last five years the number of homeless persons in Germany has more than doubled, with many suffering from mental illnesses that require treatment. Whether the mental illness itself led to losing shelter or whether the state of being homeless increased the likelihood of developing symptoms of a mental disorder remains unclear. The current study assessed the interaction of homelessness and mental illness from a care provider perspective.
We conducted a retrospective analysis of inpatient routine data from 20 psychiatric hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, over a period of four years (N = 366,767 inpatient treatment cases). Patients were considered "homeless" if they had no fixed unique address.
About 2.4% of the analyzed cohort was classified as homeless, with increasing tendency over the study period (+14% from 2016 to 2019). The percentage of homeless patients varied broadly between the hospitals (0.2-6.3%). Homeless patients were more often male and on average eight years youmental health outcomes of homeless persons.
Multiple patient-related sociodemographic and local factors are associated with homelessness of psychiatric inpatients. In addition, clinical factors differ between homeless and non-homeless patients, pointing to more severe mental illness and treatment complications (e.g., coercive measures) in homeless persons. Thus, homelessness of psychiatric inpatients can imply special challenges that need to be considered by healthcare providers and politicians, with the goal of optimizing mental and social care and the mental health outcomes of homeless persons.
Studies have investigated dietary attributes associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk in Africa. However, there has been no effort to critically assess the existing evidence. This systematic review examined available evidence on the association between plant-based dietary exposures and CVD risk profile in Africa. PROSPERO registration number CRD42020159862.
We conducted a literature search for observational studies reporting on plant-based dietary exposures in relation to CVD risk profile in African populations. PubMed-Medline, Scopus, EBSCOhost, and African Journals Online platforms were searched up to 19 March 2021. Titles and abstracts of the identified records were screened independently by two investigators. The quality of the studies was also assessed independently.
Of 458 entries identified, 15 studies published between 2002 and 2020 were included in this review. These studies originated from 12 sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) countries. Sample sizes ranged from 110 to 2362, age from 18 to 80 years; and majority of participants were females (66.
