The Nuna MIXX Next can do all that and more: It can be used from birth, thanks to its baby-friendly flat recline, has a compact fold for easy storage and rolls effortlessly over grass, sidewalks and cobblestone. It's also available as a bundle with the lightweight PIPA car seat, the urbn, to complete the travel system. The price is higher than the other options, but our test subject said it was worth it because it's durable and can handle even the most challenging trips.

For a light stroller that can still tackle some more rugged terrain, look for three-wheelers. The Thule Shine was a previous winner in this category. It's a bit more expensive than our other picks but it's sturdy, and has a lot of features (car seat compatible! dual cup holders!) This makes it a worthwhile purchase. Additionally, it folds compactly enough to fit in an airplane overhead bin which makes it a great choice for families who travel a lot.

Another major benefit is the Sport Utility's impressive quality, which earned it a 9 out of 10 in this measure. It is built with a strong aluminum frame with tight connections and no rough edges or weak stitching. It also has adjustable shocks which aid in smooth-rolling performance.

The Sport Utility stroller, like the other BOBs reviewed in this review, has optional car seat adapters. This allows you to use it with a variety of infant car seats. It took us 5:24 minutes during our tests to assemble the stroller, starting from unpacking it to getting it ready to go. It was simple enough to complete, however you'll need an Philips head screwdriver to complete the process. The instruction manual included is clear and well-organized. However, it's recommended to keep one in your case.

The Baby Trend Expedition

This jogger was made with safety, style and convenience as its main goals. In the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger does well overall for the price, and scores higher over its rivals in a variety of categories. This includes ease of using the 5-point harness that folds and unfolds, adjusting the backrest, activating the brakes on the wheel and infant car seat removal and installation (only for compatible models). It's designed to have a simple one-handed recline, that is sufficient for sleep. However the canopy cover that ratchets isn't easy to secure. It also takes almost 8 minutes to set up and the directions are confusing due to multiple languages mashed together and hard-to-understand illustrations.

The only downside to this jogger is that it doesn't come with suspension, which means the ride could be more bumpy than the other all-terrain strollers we've tested. This can be uncomfortable for younger children particularly when their nap is about to start. It does have tires that are filled with air however they don't offer the same shock absorption as the rubber wheels you find on more expensive strollers.

This is a great option for those who don't want to run frequently but would like to walk over grass and gravel with ease and without any problems with curbs, or other obstacles. It's also a good option for families with a limited space since it folds into a compact unit. It's lighter than a lot of the other joggers we've tried and fits into spaces that many full-size strollers can't.

Another benefit is that it is easier to carry and lift than the larger joggers we've tested. This is especially important if it's something you lift out and into your car trunk regularly or if you're constantly on the move.

The Nipper is light and compact making it easy to transport and fold.

The pushchair is equipped with a range of features that make it ideal for all kinds of terrain, including front suspension and a handlebar brake. It comes with a removable quilted liner and multi-position recline, as well a padded 5-point safety harness and hinged bar. It's also travel system-compatible which means you can use it with a Cybex Maxi-Cosi or Be-Safe infant car seats.
