Testing your satellite communication device
Before heading into the backcountry, be sure to test your device with GEOS by scheduling a Test Alert. You can do this by submitting an online request form at least 72 hours in advance and you will need to have an active subscription with a supported device.
While this feature isn’t for everyone, it does offer a more reliable way to communicate with first responders in the event of an emergency. Having it is important as the wilderness is a dangerous place, and you never know when you might find yourself in trouble.
