Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings
Samsung's Family Hub refrigerator combines a 389 litre fridge with a 225 litre freezer. It's an American-style large model that comes with a high-quality temperature control system as well as many smart features.
You can customize it by removing panels to match your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.
All Round Cooling
In refrigerators equipped with All Round Cooling, separate cooling circuits can help keep your food fresher. In conventional fridges, a single Evaporator cools the freezer as well as refrigerator compartments. This could result in your food getting dry because the low-humidity air that is pumped into your refrigerator is pumped in. This can make food taste bland and unpleasant.
With All Round Cooling, each shelf level has multiple vents which circulate cool air. This ensures the temperature more consistently, even when you shut and open the door of your fridge.
Optimal Fresh zone keeps meats and seafood fresher for up to two times longer than in conventional refrigerators, and does not freeze. This feature is a game changer for anyone who enjoys cooking but isn't a fan of thawing frozen meat or fish.
All Round Cooling employs a metal cooling plate in the back of the fridge to hold the cold air and stop it from being lost when you open the fridge door. It also reduces the need for power defrosting, saving you time and money.
Samsung refrigerators have one of the top ice dispensers we've tested. Its patented Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes in a single twist and can be stored in the drawer below when not in use. This makes more shelf space and makes it easy to locate your favourite drinks and snacks.
With Reversible Doors You can choose the direction in which your freezer or fridge opens. It is easy to fit your fridge into your kitchen layout while keeping it clean and clean.
Samsung's Family Hub is the central control center for your SmartThings interconnected home via the large touchscreen on your fridge. It will show you a live feed of your smart doorbell. It can also order groceries using an automated inventory, or suggest recipes based on what's in stock.
The flex drawers at the bottom of Samsung refrigerators are a clever storage solution that makes it easier to store taller items like canned drinks and trays of pizza. They can be turned over when not in use and folded flat to save space. This is a great feature for those who are passionate about cooking and baking, but have limited storage space in their refrigerators.
FlexZone
The Samsung FlexZone side by side refrigerator freezer features a unique 3-zone system that allows you to add an extra freezer drawer or refrigerator compartment. This flexibility lets you customize your fridge freezer to best fit your needs and storage requirements. fridge samsung allows you to upgrade your fridge to a bigger or smaller size by incorporating an additional FlexZone.
The elegant design of the fridge will fit in with any kitchen decor. The stainless-steel finish is long-lasting and elegant. Additionally, it has an anti-fingerprint coating that helps keep the surface looking fresh. The fridge also has an external water and ice dispensers to make life easier.
It's a nice-looking fridge that has the bottom-right FlexZone compartment that converts from freezer to refrigerator. This provides extra freezer space for items like ice cream bags of frozen veggies and fish or meat. It did well in our tests, too however the absence of voice control and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen felt like a missed opportunity.
There's plenty of room to store food items in the rest of the fridge, including two crisper drawers and a flexible middle FlexZone drawer. This drawer lets you pick among five different settings based upon your requirements for the fridge-freezer compartment. There are five different settings available: the freezer setting, a soft freeze setting for wine trays or deli trays for example, a meat setting, a fish setting, and a beverage setting to store drinks, snacks and other items you frequently use.
This Samsung FlexZone side-by-side refrigerator is a good option for families who would like the convenience of having a freezer and fridge in one. It's a little less spacious than the top-of-the-line French door models, but it has plenty of useful features and is an excellent alternative for those with little space in their kitchens.
Samsung Fridge Freezers are very energy-efficient thanks to their digital inverter technology. This technology regulates temperatures in the fridge to ensure that it doesn't change too frequently and also keeps food fresher for longer. SmartThings
SmartThings isn't quite the platform that Alexa and Google Assistant are however it does offer a lot of smart devices that you can connect to. Samsung's TVs, phones fridges and tablets all come with SmartThings. It might be enough for some especially if they own several Samsung products.
The SmartThings App is well-rounded and refined, with an 'if x, then y" automation section that works well. It is possible to set up things as alarms that go off when water sensors detect a flooding or turn on the light when your phone determines you're at home. It can also control your fridge by connecting it to a smart socket, however we've had mixed results with that.
SmartThings requires a hub, which is not expensive. Samsung offers a variety of different options, including the SmartThings Station that you can attach to an existing router and use it as a nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings Hub Dongle that can support Z-Wave and Zigbee and Thread with support coming soon.
Once you've connected your smart fridge to your smartphone and hub, it's extremely simple to use. The SmartThings app lets you manage your fridge from any location and sends notifications to your phone whenever it's open or closed. You can create schedules, adjust the temperature and set reminders.
SmartThings is a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance, which is striving to make the most important appliances in the home from a variety of manufacturers compatible. That could mean you can control your Samsung washer and dryer, Electrolux oven and LG television with the same app in the future.
SmartThings is not as popular as Alexa or Google Assistant but it does include some major names on its list, such as Arlo Nest, Belkin, and Lifx. It's also compatible with Matter, a protocol that allows accessories to connect regardless of brand. For most people however, combining Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best option.
Family Hub
A fridge freezer doesn't get much more modern than this: it's equipped with a 21-inch touchscreen in the door, complete with a myriad of intelligent features. Bixby, Samsung's voice-activated assistant that allows you to access entertainment apps, create notes for family (think of it as a huge digital version of the notepad attached to the refrigerator) and check the weather forecast and a lot more.
The touchscreen also lets you to manage your food items and recipes, with the option to add ingredients directly from the recipe app and also see what's in your fridge using internal cameras. You can create an inventory of groceries on the move and track foods to see their expiration dates. You can also use an app for recipes to read the recipe while cooking.
This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung claims that it's spent the past year adjusting them to the needs of customer feedback. You can now create distinct profiles for every family member so that they can customize the information and apps that they can access. It's not as good as having Alexa integration built into your refrigerator however it's a step up on last year's model.
Family Hub is not only an app for managing your groceries and entertainment but also controls Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices like lights plugs, locks, and lights.
Samsung's fridge is a few years old, and while it still has plenty of features, its touchscreen smarts aren't a feature majority of people would consider a must-have. They're more of a fun and semi-frivolous accessory than anything else.
This could be changed with the release of more software updates, but for now, these models are best for those who want to have the most extensive connected refrigerator possible. You could save money by purchasing a model that does not include the Family Hub if you're not one of these people. If you own a variety of smart home appliances that you want to manage from a single screen, or you love the idea of a refrigerator equipped with a large touchscreen, it might be worth the investment.
