Duress Panic Button
A duress panic button allows a person to contact emergency responders in the event of a threat or other danger. It’s a discreet, easy to use option that allows people to get help in the most dangerous situations without having to leave the safety of their workplace.
Designed for the Modern World
Today’s technology means more employees work remotely, and incidents of violence and terrorism are growing continually. These trends have created a need for organizations to keep track of their employees, check on them, and provide a way for them to summon help when necessary.
Using a Duress Alarm System
Duress alarms are a common type of security solution used by business owners, commercial building managers, and school administrators. They’re a simple and effective way to help protect workers, staff, and students in the event of a threat or other dangerous situation.
How a Duress Button Works
Panic alarms are typically connected to an organization’s access control and security management system, which sends the alert to a centralized control center. The center will then dispatch local security officers and/or the police to the facility when a panic button is pressed.
The alarm system should also have a video surveillance camera that views each area where a panic button is installed, so that the center can assess the situation in order to determine what action to take. When this is possible, the security system should be interfaced with the video surveillance system to enable real-time recording whenever a panic button is pressed.
